When did you start making websites?
I built my very first webpage on Homestead during November 1998, since I didn't know HTML at the time. I then started building websites on Angelfire around April 2000, and I was forced to learn the basics of HTML (since HTML knowledge is still required to use the Basic Editor). A few months later, I learned how to make tables using HTML, but never really used it on any of my websites until May 2002. Thats when I learned that I could have a list of links to the left and/or right of the page using table HTML without having to do frames. Of course, the list of links is ONLY listed on the main website. It would be too hard to make changes if I had to list all of the links on every webpage on this site!
I want to create my own website. Where is the best place to build it?
There are so many free web services on the internet that I couldn't possibly tell you the best place to host your website. However, I wouldn't recommend building a website on Geocities or Homestead, since they don't require the knowledge of HTML, and it's best if you learned HTML for yourself. Websites that are hosted on Homestead and Geocities are also often "overdone", or in other words, the webmasters try to make their website look "too cool", or "out of this world".
Okay, so I have decided to build my website on Angelfire. Which editor do you recommend?
If you are clueless about HTML, I would recommend the Basic Editor. If you at least have some knowledge of HTML, you should still use the Basic Editor. Don't use the Advanced Editor until you have mastered the basics, and before you convert your webpage to Advanced (if it is a Basic Editor webpage), make sure that you click on yes for "include counters" if you wish to have a counter on the webpage.

No, I did not steal this layout from another website. In fact, I really don't even consider this to be a layout! It is just a mixture of table HTML that I have learned, and...well thats about it.

Well, if you have seen this layout elsewhere, chances are you have stumbled across one of my other websites on Angelfire. I have three other websites that are hosted on Angelfire, and all of my websites have similar layouts with different backgrounds and colors.
