Resident Evil-Online
Resident Evil is the
franchise that started it all. Love it or hate it, the influence of the video
games are everywhere and believe it or not, may be responsible for the entire
zombie surge both here and oveseas.
According to the official Playstation magazine, the latest and most refreshing
edition to the franchise, Resident Evil: Online will be hitting Japan next
summer and will carry a fee of 5$ a month. No word on a U.S. release date or
price plan but rest assured it'll hit our shores. The game even supports both
broadband and narrowband connections so you don't have to worry about not being
able to play if your stuck with dial-up.
The premise has the player choosing from 1 of 8 players, such as a police
officer, a waitress, or a surgeon and the goal is to simply make it out of
Raccoon City alive. The catch is, there can be up to a dozen zombies on screen
at once and that means there's no way you're going to make it alone which brings
us to the online aspect. You'll have to work with other players to survive and
each character has its own traits and abilities. Four will be controlled by
other players, four will be computer controlled. Interaction will be limited to
simple pretext commands so you never know who's a real live person, and who's
not!
Imagine the mayham with tons of characters onscreen, all firing at zombies.
Certainly sounds like a good time! Until this sucker hits however, pick up a
Gamecube and enjoy Resident Evil 0, which not only tells you how the whole thing
began, but has some of the best graphics you'll ever see! To see more
