Tomb Raider 2 - The Cradle of Life
Lara Croft (Angelina Jolie) once again has to save the world, but this time she has ex-boyfriend Terry Sheridan (Gerard Butler) tagging along to help her. Lara was on a deep sea dive to recover an ancient mysterious orb, when the ord was stolen by Chen Lo (Simon Yam) and two of Lara's team were killed. Chen Lo was hired by Jonathan Reiss (Ciaran Hinds) a chemical weapons profiteer. The orb is a map the tells the location of Pandora's Box. Reiss wishes to find the box and sell it as a weapon to the highest bidder, it is up to Lara and Terry to save the world from this evil menace! Lara and Terry follow Reiss to The Cradle of Life where the box is kept and with the help of Djimon Hounsou (Kosa) they must get past the guardians and get a hold of the box, before Reiss does!
I haven't seen the first movie, but I have played the video game. Knowledge of the game or previous movie is not needed to watch this movie. Cradle of Life is a pretty brainless shoot 'em up kind of movie, jam packed with special effects like shooting and explosions. There are a lot of needless stunts that make the movie interesting such as the sea-do scene or the sky diving bit. There is a small losely held together plot, based some what on the game, the previous movie and history. Not a very good movie but a not bad 2 hrs of entertainment.
