Reservoir Dogs
Reservoid Dogs is a great low budget indy film. Joe Cabot (Lawrence Tierney) a bigtime crime boss, and his son Nice Guy Eddie (Chris Penn) put together a group of stickmen to rob a diamond store. Each memeber of the group were given alias but we find out some of their real names, Mr White/Lawrence Dimmick (Harvey Keitel), Mr Orange/Freddy Newandyke (Tim Roth), Mr. Pink (Steve Buscemi), Mr. Blonde/Vic Vega (Michael Madson), Mr. Brown (Quentin Tarantino) and Mr. Blue (Edward Bunker).
During the job an alarm goes off and Mr. Blonde starts shooting the hostages. The police show up and the criminals break for it. Mr White,Orange and Brown drive away in a getaway car, Mr Brown gets shot by the cops and Mr. White shoots the cops and tries to steal a car. When Mr. Orange gets shot, Mr White then takes him to the hideout where they meet up with Mr. Pink.
Pink explains that there must be a rat in on the job, because so many police responded so quickly. He told of how he found a hole to escape, shot some cops and stole a car, and made off with the diamonds. They were just discussing , what to do with Mr. Orange, who was gut shot when Mr. Blonde shows up.
We learn how Mr. Blonde joined the group and that he was good friends with Joe and Nice guy Eddie. We also learn about how Mr. White joined the group and some of his past. Mr. White is mad at Mr. Blonde for not "acting like a professional" and they almost end up shooting each other. Mr. Blonde tells them that he has a cop in his car.
Nice Guy Eddie shows up and tries to sort out the situation. He says he'll get a doctor for Mr. Orange, and leaves Mr. Blonde to stay with him and the cop, while he, Mr. White, and Mr. Pink go get the diamonds Mr. Pink cached.
While they are gone Mr. Blonde starts up his famous torture and ear cutting sequence to the great sound track of Steelers Wheel's "Stuck in the Middle With You". Right before Mr. Blonde was going to set the cop on fire, Mr. Orange shot him. We learn the Mr. Orange was an undercover cop, trying to get the crime boss Joe Cabot.
The guys come back and see Mr. Blonde was shot. Nice Guy Eddie shoots the cop and there is a stand off when Joe shows up and says that Mr. Orange is the traitor and that he is going to shoot him.
From the pictures you can see the result of the stand off, but I won't tell you what happens. Resevoir Dogs is one of my favourite movies, I bought it on DVD recently and watch it often. The dialogue is amazing in the classic Tarantino style along with the music. The acting from Keitel, Madsen,Roth and Buscemi are all excellent and really hold the movie together. The interesting characters, plot twists and the way the story is represented really makes the movie great. There are alot of great extra's on the DVD's including cut scenes, interviews etc. My favourite parts are Mr. White "You're going to be okay" and Mr. Blonde "are you gonna bark all day little doggie, or are you going to bite" and "to torture a cop amuses me" and Mr. Pink "Did you shoot any real people?" Mr White "No just some cops". Overall and awesome movie and a must see!
