Matchstick Men - Movie Review

Matchstick Men

cover

Roy Waller (Nicholas Cage) was an obsessive compulsive con man. He and his partner Frank Mercer (Sam Rockwell) had conned many suckers out of their money, using a variety of different con jobs. When Roy's old psychologist moves he goes to a new pyschologist, Dr. Klein (Bruce Altman) who trys to help Roy find out about his ex-wife and if he had a child with her or not. He finds out his 14 year old daughter, Angela (Alison Lohman) wants to meet him. He takes her under his wing, and as their relationship grows, they do some con jobs together.

If you are one of those nitpicker type people, you probably won't like this movie because of its continuity errors. In the past I have liked and disliked Nicholas Cage's acting, but I think he does a good job in this movie. I liked the movie, but was disappointed with the ending. The music was interesting, and gave the movie an "old-timey" kind of flavour. The plot was kind of predictable to me and I wish they would have done more with it, but overall a pretty good movie.
