Chapter 1

Welcome to Palooza!

A city of dreams, a city of delight, a city of pure craziness! This is the city known as Palooza.  Around every corner, there is a story just waiting to happen. Everyone has a story called Life. Everyone has or had one.  One would be the story of a girl, and the people that surround her...

Crystal Conner had spent her life in the mountains almost all her life. She desired so much to one day to leave the mountains. So, she fixed up her red fiery hair, got her glasses and suitcase, and left out the door of her mother’s house. Of course with almost no money, very little food, and nowhere to go, she was pretty much in trouble.  One day, she caught a train and ended up in a city...

“Welcome to Palooza,” read Crystal at the sign, “What a stupid name for a city! I mean, I could’ve come up with something better than that name! Well I guess I’m stuck here, until I get more money.”

Crystal walked around the colorful and bright city griping about her life.  “No mom, I want to travel the world! I don’t want to be a lawyer so I can make millions of dollars!” Sarcastically said Crystal to herself. She continued walking around thinking how her life felt it had been thrown into the depths of the underworld.  However, a meeting of fate would fix that...

Crystal, still in her bad mood, decided to rest on a bench. She was so depressing to be around at this point that if she was to say ‘hello’ to somebody, that run off and kill themselves. After awhile, a young woman with dark hair with an upbeat and perky personality came over and sat down next to Crystal.

“Hi Miss Stranger-Person! Are you new here, I’ve never seen you before!” Said the young woman with a bright big smile on her face.

“I don’t care who you are or what you do, so would you please go away?” Asked Crystal as polite as she could be.

“Oh you must be in a very, very, very  bad mood!” Said the girl, still in her happy and upbeat voice.

“Well thank you Master of the Obvious! I am in a bad mood! Than again, almost everything makes me mad though. In fact, your stupid ‘happy-go-lucky attitude’ is pretty much ticking me off right now!” Said Crystal starting to get mad, like she said she would.

“I think someone needs a hug!” Said the girl.

“You put your hands around me, and I will rip at every organ in your body and feed it to a group of chickens!” Said Crystal getting defensive.

“I like chickens!” Said the girl, still yet, in her happy and upbeat like attitude.

“Never mind! I was leaving anyway!” Said Crystal starting to get up and leave.

“Wait! I haven’t introduced myself yet! My name is Megan, Megan Bailey!” Said the girl happily.

“I really don’t care. Chances are, is that we will never meet again, and we have just wasted some time of our life.” Said Crystal walking away.

“Hey, tell me your name! I told you mine!” Said Megan.

“Fine, whatever! My name is Crystal, Crystal Conner. Are you happy now?” Asked Crystal harshly.

“Wow! That is a really nice name! I mean it’s like ‘Crys’ and than

‘tal’! Truly an amazing name!” Said Megan happily.

“You need to get out more girl and to stop playing with your chickens. Now if you excuse me, I’m going to find the nearest cliff, and jump off of it!” Said Crystal as she walked away.

Megan ran behind Crystal to talk with her more. “I bet you have no place to go, and an evil gremlin stole your all your money!” Said Megan.

“OK, it is true that I have no money, but I have not run into any gremlins!” Said Crystal getting even madder, if that is even possible.

“Hey I have an idea! I need a roommate! You see I recently moved into this city a few months ago, and I am renting this house, but the problem is the rent is so high!” Said Megan. “So I was wondering--”

“If your suggesting me to be your roommate, than you are truly the most idiotic person I have ever had the displease of meeting!” Said Crystal-interrupting Megan.

“Oh come on! You fascinate me!” Said Megan.

“Oh my! You know a word that is around ten letters long?!” Said Crystal sarcastically shocked.

“Please! Would you please move in with me? I believe we could become the best of friends!” Said Megan.

“You are truly the most annoying person I have ever met, but you are also the most persistent person I have ever met.” Said Crystal.

“Does that mean you’ll move in with me, and we will become ‘Best Friends Forever’, and wear matching t-shirts?” Asked Megan happily, with very bright eyes.

“Seeing how I have no place to go, no money, and I lost my suitcase on board that train, I really have no choice.” Sighed Crystal.

“Yea! We get to be roommates! This is going to be super awesome! Let’s hug--”

“Don’t touch me!” Said Crystal-once again, interrupting Megan.

Megan took Crystal back to her house. The house was a small, yet nice. The color on the outside was a nice shade of yellow, which really didn’t matter since yellow Crystal’s most hated color.

“I already hate this house! It’s the color yellow, which burns my hatred like the fire of a thousand suns!” Said Crystal.

“The best part is inside! Come on in!” Said Megan. The two girls walked inside the house, and Crystal was shocked as she walked in. There were feathers all over the floor, trash all over the place, and had a very bad scent.

“My goodness, it’s like a chicken lives here!” Exclaimed Crystal.

“A chicken does live here! Her name is Maria! She is my best friend, and you’re also my best friend! We’re a small group of friends! Isn’t it wonderful?” Asked Megan happily. Maria the chicken came over and started rubbing herself against Crystal’s leg.

“I have been condemned to the seventh level of the underworld! My life is pure crap now!” Said Crystal sobbing.

“Yes, but now, you have me!” Said Megan happily.

“Please don’t remind me!” Said Crystal sobbing even more.

Crystal had now settled down after leaving her original home. Crystal wanted to live in the city, and now she is going to, with a new friend, who is the complete opposite of her, along with a chicken. Her life is going to change now. Around every corner, there is a story just waiting to happen. Everyone has a story called Life. Everyone has or had one.  A city of dreams, a city of delight, a city of pure craziness! This is the city known as Palooza.  Around every corner, there is a story just waiting to happen.  Welcome to the City of Palooza!
