Grizzly Control - Water Deck

Water decks have drastically changed since the last time I updated mine. Instead of using A Legendary Ocean to get 2000 attack 3* monsters, the decks use Mother Grizzly and Salvage to create massive advantage. As a Tomato Control player, I have to say that Grizzly Control is very effective, almost more effective than any other searcher based control deck.

The reason for that is simple. Water has one card that specifically helps out this kind of deck - Salvage. The ability to bring back two monsters with 1500 attack or less can at times be gamebreaking. Salvage is a 2 for 1 deal - you spend one card to get two. Pot of Greed and Delinquent Duo were the exact same way, and Salvage will probably never be restricted.

Water also got a huge boost with the removal of Abyss Soldier from the restricted list. Though you're probably never going to use three, two will certainly be enough to take control of the game. With Salvage, discarding cards will never be a problem for you, and you should ALWAYS have a supply of Water monsters at your disposal.

Besides Mother Grizzly, there are some great Water monsters with less than 1500 attack. Yomi Ship is like a DD Assailant, except it simply destroys the card instead of removes it from the game. Maryokutai can be sacrificed to negate a magic card that your opponent uses. Treeborn Frog is great for sacrificing or to keep field presence (Enemy Controller will be included in here for use with Treeborn Frog). Nightmare Penguin has great defense, and can power up your Water monsters slightly (along with bouncing an opponent's card). Poison Draw Frog is a great deterrent and can gain you some advantage. Fenrir is nice to lock the opponent down for a turn or two, and with the abuse of Treeborn Frog, it can be put to use.

I'd give this type of deck a shot, especially if you like swarming the field and reusing cards. This deck should basically run your opponent's resources dry. With Grizzly, Yomi Ship, and Maryokutai, the opponent will have a hard time getting to you the first time he or she has to face these cards, and when you reuse them with Salvage it should simply overpower them.

Monsters - 20 (2 Tribute, 18 Non-Sacrifice)
