Sanctuary in the Sky has always been an elusive theme. Life gain is generally not a competitive theme, because you can RARELY gain more LP at a faster rate than the opponent can get rid of it. However, this deck allows you to use your life gain in an offensive way - both Saturn and Mars can utilize their effects better when you have more life points than the opponent.
The first thing that you will notice about this deck is the large amount of Tribute monsters, and the very little support that they have. Guardian Angel Joan sticks out like a sore thumb, but it is actually one of the best ways to gain life points. In an age where Aggro dominates, strong monsters are key to winning a duel. Guardian Angel Joan has better attack than any of the major monsters used, and whenever it destroys a monster you gain life points equal to the destroyed monster's attack. Not bad if you take down a Cyber Dragon or a Jinzo. Admittedly, two sacrifices is hard to do, but Joan has no restrictions on its special summoning abilities. Airknight Parsath has had its praises sung since it was released, so there's no reason to go into that now.
Agent of Judgement - Saturn is actually a win condition for this deck. When you have more life points than the opponent and Sanctuary in the Sky is on your side of the field, you can sacrifice Saturn to deal damage to your opponent equal to the difference between your life points. By gaining life points and playing conservatively, you should be able to sacrifice Saturn and deal enough damage to the opponent to win.
One thing that you need to realize when playing this deck is that you can increase the difference in life points by attacking the opponent as well. Dealing damage is the most common way of increasing the gap between life points, and some people get locked into the idea that you can ONLY gain life points with this deck, and don't bother to attack. Play aggressively when you feel that you can, and simply use the life points to increase the gap between yourself and your opponent.
