Silent Swordsman is an interesting LV family. It's ultimate form, LV 7, is subpar. The ability to negate spells is awesome, but it negates ALL spells, including your own. Horus LV 8 is better for that, but unlike Horus this family has Warrior support which makes it much easier to use. The best idea is to mix this theme with the Mystic Swordsman family. Silent will negate the Magics while Mystic gets rid of flip effects and the like. However, this is a pure Silent Swordsman Deck; I'll make a Mystic/Silent Hybrid on another page.
Silent Swordsman LV 3 negates opponent's spells that designate it. This means Change of Heart, Book of Moon, and Snatch Steal won't work on this, but Premature Burial and Level Up will. Awesome. Lots of fun to use. Since it's level 3 it slips under Gravity Bind, which is AWESOME for my Warrior Gravity Bind Deck. Hehe. You simply have to keep this out until your next standby phase in order to summon LV 5, which is REALLY easy since Marauding Captain supports it AND it can be special summoned through Shining Angel.
Once you upgrade LV 3 you get Silent Swordsman LV 5, which is the best one in this family. LV 5 is not affected by your opponent's Spell cards, even though you can use Premature Burial or Level Up on it. Unlike any other LV monster, this has to attack directly in order to summon LV 7, which can be very hard or very easy. Most of the time you'll probably be using Level Up on this monster to get LV 7 (though why you'd want to evades me).
Silent Swordsman LV 7 seems like a downgrade compared to LV 5. LV 7 restricts you from using your own Spell cards, which is an awful downside. Most of the time you'll want to keep LV 5 on the field, but since this is a pure Silent Swordsman Deck, I'm putting it in. I really suggest using a Mystic/Silent Hybrid if you want to use Silent.
