Return to Normalcy - Normal Beatdown

The more I play around with Normal Decks, the more I like them. I think that they could have been very effective a few formats ago, when everybody was using Spell Cards. They have protection through Non-Spellcasting Area, swarming through Two Man Cell Battle, Speed through Heart of the Underdog, and recursion through Dark Factory of Mass Production. They do have very decent support, and I'm surprised that I don't see these decks more often.

Though the monsters themselves are nothing special, Battle Footballer and Soul Tiger can stand up to Cyber Dragon, and the 1900 beatsticks can take down most monsters played today. Summoned Skull has more attack than any tribute monster played nowadays, and with the swarming capabilities of Two Man Battle Cell, you should be able to tribute a monster for it. You'll notice that there are three effect monsters in the deck - all three of them are just decent monsters to have on hand, nothing more.

The Spell Count is very high for this format, and this does cause the deck to go over 40 cards - 42 cards are in the deck, but I don't think that that will be a problem with this deck. As mentioned before, the support that Normal Monsters have is some of the best in the game (since they can't work with any effects). Heart of the Underdog provides necessary speed, and there are 17 monsters in the deck that can benefit from its effect. Non-Spellcasting Area is amazing support, as protection from all Spells is found in very few monsters, and those monsters can see some tournament play. Two Man Cell Battle allows you to swarm - usually, your opponent will not be running any Normal monsters, allowing you to benefit from this effect alone. Finally, Dark Factory of Mass Production allows you to bring two Normal monsters from your graveyard to your hand. It places no restriction on attack or level or anything, so once you lose two monsters you can simply bring them back and reswarm the field with Two Man Cell Battle.

Though this deck has more than 40 cards, Normal monsters can be lots of fun to play with. The strategy for the deck is very simple - swarm the field and attack, but the fact that no effect monsters are used often times will boggle your opponent's mind.
