Mystic Swordsman is one of the better LV families out there. LV 2 is one of the best LV monsters in the game; it has a Sasuke Samurai effect, and has successfully replaced Samurai in side decks. All of the Mystic Swordsmen have this "Destroy Face Down Monster immediately" effect.
LV 2 is awesome because it's a LV 2 monster with 900 attack that destroys face down monsters immediately. Otherwise, there's nothing really special about it. There is a problem with it in these decks though: destroying a monster that's face down is through it's effect, NOT through battle. Therefore, if you attack a face down monster with LV 2 and destroy it, you cannot summon LV 4 through it's effect. Inside this deck, its a waste, but it is VERY useable outside of this deck. I have one in just for Level Up! bait. It's simply an alternate way of getting LV4 out, and should by no means be the only way. Marauding, Cyber Jar, and set+Book of Taiyou serve the same purpose.
LV 4 is the worst of the Mystic Swordsman family. Its stats are awesome, but its effect is what kills it: LV 4 cannot be normal summoned face up, so you need to revive it, set it, or special summon it through the effect of Marauding Captain. It also has the same effect as LV 2, where if it destroys a face down monster it's through the effect. This thing has 1900 attack though, so you'll be able to destroy monsters with brute force rather than effects. I know it seems weird; the worst is maxed out. However, this is because you'll want to get it out fastest, and in this deck it's decent.
LV 6 can be a VERY scary monster. Its stats are decent for a tribute monster, but you won't be tributing for this thing. Use Level Up on LV 4 or attack a monster with LV 4 to get what people like to call a "soft lock" monster. LV 6 has the same effect as the rest of the Mystics, but this time you get to send the monster you destroy to the top of the opponent's deck. You don't get to see the monster, but that's beside the point: the next card your opponent draws will be a monster that they just set. If they set the monster again, they'll draw it again; if they summon it, they'll most likely lose a lot of LP; if they don't summon it, then LV 6 attacks directly. It's a VERY fun theme to use.
Some other alterations to this deck would be using Ultimate Offering. You can use Ultimate Offering on the opponent's turn, so if they declare an attack you can summon Tsukuyomi and flip their monster face down, then next turn get rid of it with Mystic. Cyber Jar is in for thinning and Special Summoning LV4.
Thanks to Hyper for telling me the original sucked, and thanks to Dingis to helping me make it awesome.
