The Armed Dragon family has an effect that allows you to discard a monster then destroy a monster that has a weaker attack strength. LV 3 has no effect, but LV 5 and 7 do. LV 3 is usually taken from the deck by having Masked Dragon die through battle then summoning LV 5 on your next standby phase. From there, it's your basic LV up strategies.
However, the Armed Dragon family also gives inherent card disadvantage, and there isn't much help in terms of making it up. Also, there are other forms of removal (Smashing Ground, for example), that are better 1 for 1 trades. Armed Dragon is very hard to use correctly, and in just about every case Horus is better...but Armed can still be fun to play with.
First things first; ignore Armed Dragon LV10. It's worthless. No, you cannot use Level Up! on Armed LV7, so it becomes a VERY slow card to use. A nomi that can only be summoned through another nomi. Ouch.
Surprisingly enough, Chainsaw Insect gives this deck some playability. A 2400 monster that isn't TOTAL deadweight is great for Armed Dragon, as you can then take down Monarchs and other such annoying monsters by discarding Chainsaw. Not too shabby, though try to avoid attacking opponent's monsters with the Insect.
There's a lot of face down hate in this deck, what with the Nobleman of Crossout x2, Mind Control (fun when you steal a Dekoichi or Magical Merchant), and Ceasefire. This will allow you to take advantage of Armed Dragon's effect, as it only works on face up monsters. Pot of Avarice is in to help reuse your discard bait, while Enemy Controller is in for some nice comboing with Treeborn Frog. Have fun!
