The Six Elements

This is not just one deck; this is an article on attribute decks. The six attributes are Fire, Wind, Light, Water, Earth, and Dark. These are different from types such as Warrior, Machine, Fiend, etc. Decks can be built around both the types and the attributes, and both can be equally effective.

All of the decks use the field card relating to the attribute(Molten Destruction, Rising Air Current, Luminous Spark, A Legendary Ocean, Gaia Power, and Mystic Plasma Zone). Note that A Legendary Ocean is used in place of Umiiruka, because ALO is far better than Umiiruka. 500 attack points is nothing compared to non sacrifice Orcas, Terrorking Salmons, and Gravity Bind Gagagigos. All of these decks are successful, and most are extremely cheap to make.

Fire is probably the easiest type to build. It's constantly overlooked in place of powerful Dark monsters, Gravity Bind Water monsters, and annoying Earth monsters. However, Fire can mix both power and annoyance along with some Direct Damage. And the best part; all of the necessary monsters are commons. Yes, every one of the monsters necessary for a Fire deck is a common. Solar Flare Dragon(1500/1000, AST), Great Angus(1800/1500, MFC), Blazing Inpachi(1850/0, IOC), and Inferno(1100/1900, IOC). Manticore of Darkness is preferred over Twin Headed Fire Dragon, but they're both pretty strong in Fire Decks; Manticore just has a cool effect. This is an example of a Fire Deck.

Wind can also be a very powerful deck type. Some of the better cards are rarer and more powerful, but Wind decks can also be built using commons. Spear Dragon with 2400 attack is a very scary thought, and imagine your opponent's face when you get Slate Warrior to 2900 attack. But both of these cards need support; Sasuke Samurai is raised to 1000 attack and can still destroy face down monsters without any problem. Luster Dragon is another Wind 1900. Stay away from Spell Canceller; it will negate the effect of Rising Air Current, ruining your entire plan. For those of you on a budget, you can run successful Wind decks with just a little less power; Harpie's Brother and Nin Ken Dog work well, as does Empress Mantis. Power them up with Rising Air Current, and you have a very formidable foe. An example of a Wind Deck can be seen here.

Light is another powerful deck type. I've always wanted to make one of these, but never got the resources to do so. Be forewarned; this deck is slightly on the expensive side. You should focus on using Airknight Parsath, because having a 2400 trampler that allows you to draw is pretty good. DD Warrior Lady is the next best choice, along with Magician of Faith or Shing Angel, Reflect Bounder, and Thunder Nyan Nyan. Be careful not to keep anything except Light monsters on the field when Nyan Nyan is out; otherwise, it'll get destroyed. You can also go for a Kaiser Seahorse route; using Kaiser Seahorse to sacrifice for things such as Blue Eyes, Guardian Angel Joan, Mystical Knight of Jackal, etc. Those offer very strong monsters, but be careful not to overload on the sacrifices. The most basic Light decks Also use some of the Agents found in Sanctuary in the Sky decks. Both decks are fairly competitive, but personally I prefer Light Decks.

Water is definitely one of the most diverse decks. The strategies will be discussed in the ALO file, but you can build these decks in different ways; Gravity Bind+ALO allows you to protect your 4* water monsters while still attacking with them, Orca Decks allows you to use Orca and the two monsters to destroy things on the field, and pure beatdown, my personal favorite, mixes the level 4 beatsticks with level 5 powerhouses. With ALO on the field, you can summon Terrorking Salmon(2600 attack with ALO) and Giga Gagagigo(2650 attack with ALO) without sacrificing. Refined beatdown at it's scariest. The ALO file can be found here.

Earth. Earth decks are beatdown. That's it. Goblin Attack Force, Gemini Elf, Berserk Gorilla, Injection Fairy Lily; all cards that are usually used in beatdowns anyway, and now youre giving them an extra 500 attack. You can use things like Dark Driceratops to hurt your opponent even more, but it's not necessary. Just take them down with your beatsticks. Slightly on the expensive side though. I once made a Gravity Bind Earth Deck. It was fun. Here's a basic Earth Deck.

Dark. Chaos? Undead? Fiend? All of these should come to mind when you think of Dark, and if you think that they're more powerful in their specific decks, you're right. Seriously, if you want to make a Dark deck, choose one of those ones. However, if you REALLY want to make a Dark deck, use things like Archfiend Soldier, Mad Dog of Darkness, Skilled Dark Magician(if you do use this, throw in 1-2 Dark Magicians), Breaker, Hades, Jinzo, Vampire Lord...very very strong deck, but it's definitely the most expensive for the attribute decks. Someone around here once made a Dark deck...this is a pretty good example of a Dark deck.

That concludes the attribute article. These decks are VERY easy to make, and can be competitive if used correctly. All of these decks should use three Field cards of the attribute, and two Terraforming to get them faster. Magic Reflector is a good form of protection for the field cards. These are great fun decks too; have fun!
