A Chess Variant played on a Disk with 43 Cells

Diplomat Chess is a game played on a board with 43 cells arranged in the shape of a disk. It is (somehow) a variant of the game of Chess, so you will understand this game more easily if you are accustomed to the terms and expressions used in standard chess gameplay.

This game was designed to enter a contest organised by www.ChessVariants.com whereby game designers and chess enthusiasts submitted their own variants of chess with the sole condition that they had to be played on a board of exactly 43 cells. The contest's deadline is April 15, 2003 and the prize winners will be anounced on September 1, 2003.

Initial Position of the Pieces on the Board

This game was invented by Carlos Martín-Fuertes, who also designed this website and wrote its texts. Despite not being an English native-speaker, great effort has been made to keep the language of these pages as correct and concise as possible. If, however, you find something wrong or not clear enough, please take the time to make me know at the Forum section of this website. Also, comments or questions on the game are indeed welcome.
