based on material given in Delta Green by Dennis Detwiller, Adam Scott Glancy, and John Tynes

Delta Green was born in 1928 as a result of the U.S. government's raid on Innsmouth. In 1942 and through WWII, the organization put its intelligence-gathering and espionage efforts towards countering the Nazis' occult studies. A disastrous operation in pre-invasion Cambodia in 1970 almost spelt the end for Delta Green. Officially shut down, many of the group's members continued their work outside the boundaries of the federal government. The lack of a command structure or central intelligence kept most operations from achieving any real measure of success, however, until 1994, when a veteran Delta Green leader, mere moments before his assassination, managed to reorganize the group into a classical cell-structure conspiracy with access to all of his files.
