RANGERS FOCUSED TO REMAIN COMPETATIVE

THROUGH NEW LOOK ZBHL RULE CHANGES

NEW YORK TIMES NY NY – The “New Look ZBHL” has created quite a stir within the ranks of the ZBHL head offices, none more so than this Rangers organization. We are about two thirds of the way through the total rebuilding phase that began here at the start season 4.  Sure the team has reached the playoffs the last two seasons but first round exits are not near the expectation that emanates from this teams locker room at the start of each season.  We have completed most of the groundwork in drafting top line youth from which to build from.  That being said we are basically waiting for key players like Rick Nash, Jason Spezza, Patrice Bergeron, Paul Mara, and Mike Van Ryn to reach their potential.  We have a strong foundation in goal.  The tandem of Dwayne Roloson and Dominik Hasek are surely one of the elite tandems in this league.  Youngsters Hannu Toivonen and Jason Bacashihua are developing quite nicely and should soon be battling for cups of coffee in the show.  The past two seasons have seen us draft young and not (slightly older) players who can step right into 3rd and 4th line roles.  We are looking for names like Kyle Wellwood, Matt Stajan, Chirs Campoli, Steve Ott, Brooks Orpik, Junior Lessard, Dustin Penner, Johan Franzen and Patrick Fischer to explode onto the scene creating a solid line up throughout, as older players such as Pierre Turgeon, Jason Allison, Richard Park and Mike Eastwood will in all likelihood are nearing the end of their careers.   We also welcome back to the fold Dennis Arkhipov from his stint in Russia.  He will bolster the middle on either the 3rd or 4th line and maintain some experience as our youth develop.  The new rules regarding Salary Caps, UFA and their ages, Set dollar amounts for draft picks during initial contract offers etc, have all caused management here to remain cautious of it’s decisions as it nears the end of rebuilding and starts to make legitimate cup runs.   Keeping within all the rule changes and remaining competitive will be a major concern for us.  Not all of the new rules are beneficial for teams like ours whom are good just not great yet.  We feel the #1 way we can meet our end goals is not to get too carried away with spending on contracts.  Let players earn the money they are seeking and pay them well for meeting expectations.  Time will tell if this is the best way to look at these new rules and I’m sure it will be a huge leaning curve for all ZBHL GM’s.  I am also not afraid to take a small step backwards if need be to strengthen and put this club in a stronger position down the road.

Once again welcome to the ZBHL NY Rangers Site. We here at MSG are very excited about direction this franchise is heading - Our goal is still the same: "One day we will be a respected commanding force within the ZBHL!"

"The greatest FHL on the net!"
