

Apparently, AI in Thief and Thief II won't go through an opening less than 6 feet high.
So to make them patrol or even follow you through smaller openings, you have to do a
standard pathfinding hack to make it work.

In the attached example, there is a 8 foot wide by 4 foot high opening between two rooms.
There's a patrol route from one room to another, and a 1/2 pint servant to demo the
results. (Install the squirt2.bin and squirt2.cal file in your mesh directory).

How the trick is done. Temporarily make the opening 8 feet high (adjust it's position
appropriately). Leave the short door right where it is. (Forget the door if you're just
doing passages!) Now do the portalize and pathfinding, as well as building the room and
AI room databases.

Ok, now go back and lower the opening to 4 feet. Just do the portalization again.

Go into game mode, and watch the little bugger do his patrol route.
