Unlock the secret characters  You must beat the characters after they first challenge you.

	Dr. Mario Complete the game in 1P Classic mode or play 100 VS mode matches.
	Jigglypuff  Complete the 1P Classic with any character or fight 50 VS mode battles
	Falco Lombardi  Complete the 100 man Melee or play 300 VS mode battles.
	Gannondorf Complete event #29 Tri Force Gathering.
	Luigi  You can unlock Luigi in three ways. Complete the first stage of 1P Adventure mode with a time between 3:32:99 and 3:33:00.  Battle Luigi and bet him up in under 1 minute.  Finish adventure mode to battle him again. Play 800 VS mode battles. Finish the first stage in a time ending in 2 seconds.
	Mewtwo  Play 700 VS mode battles or get a total of 20 hours of gameplay in VS mode.
	Pichu  You must first unlock Luigi and Falco. Complete event #37 The Legendary Pokemon.  You can also unlock Pichu by completing adventure mode with Mewtwo or playing 200 VS mode battles.
	Prince Marth  He can be unlocked in 4 ways. Complete the 1P Classic mode with all 14 default characters Play with all 14 default characters in VS mode. Play 400 VS mode battles. Complete the 1P classic mode under very easy difficulty level.
	Roy  Complete the 1P Classic mode with Marth or play 900 VS mode battles.
	Young Link  There are three ways to unlock Young Link Complete the 1P Classic mode with different characters including Link. Complete Adventure mode as Ganondorf Play 500 VS mode battles.
	Mr. Game and Watch there are three ways to unlock Mr. Game and Watch Complete the Target test mode with all 24 characters. Play over 1000 VS mode battles. Unlock all the stage and complete the game with all 24 characters in 1P classic mode.

Unlock the secret stages

	Battlefield  Complete All-Star mode with any character
	Dreamland  Complete Target Test successfully with all 25 characters.
	Eagleland: Fourside  Play 100 VS matches.
	Final Destination  Clear all 51 event matches.
	F-Zero Grand Prix: Big Blue  Play 150 VS matches.
	Mushroom Kindom II  Get a birdo or pidgit throphy.
	Kanto Skies:  Poke Floats  Play 200 VS matches.
	Planet Zebes; Brinstar Depths  Play 50 Vs matches.
	Superflat World: Flat Zone  Unlock Mr. Game & Watch and complete classic mode with him.

	All Star mode  Unlock all 25 Characters.
	Sound Test  Unlock all secret characters and stages.
	Score display  get more than 5000 ko's.  This option let's you look at each players scores while fighting instead of seeing them at the end of the match.
