Appearance: Gabriel John Utterson is a tall and thin man at about 6". Being in his late forties, his brown hair is becoming more and more grey. His eyes are a warm hazel-brown and he wears a moustache. Utterson's face often shows a solemn expression but nevertheless he appears very friendly in his own quiet way. Skills: He is a highly esteemed and well-known lawyer. Personality: Utterson leads a withdrawn and almost secluded life which is a result of his past. He relishes good wines and cigars and, if he doesn't work overtime in his office, spends most of his evenings at home, working on his cases. You won't find a person more honest and he has got an admirable self-discipline. Utterson keeps his friends for life, but he doesn't make friends easily. A thoughtful man as he is, Utterson does only a little socializing. But he enormously enjoys the occasions where he can meet his oldest and closest friends, Hastie Lanyon and Henry Jekyll, which he has known for over 20 years now. Presently, he is very concerned about the changes taking place in Henry which he cannot understand, but he would do anything to help him. |

to his work and studies, trying to lead a flawless life. His mother died
when he was a child, but brought up by his father and aunt he used to be a
cheerful young man until his fiancée and father died in a tragic
accident when he was 20 years old.
However, his life is changing, due to the influence of Edward Hyde, the assistant of Henry Jekyll. As Edward Hyde has a bad reputation, Utterson is worried about his friend, especially as he wants to leave all his possessions, if he should be absent for a longer time or even die, to this man.... |
