Background: Emma is the daughter of Sir Danvers Carew. She was engaged to Simon Stride, but called it off after catching him in bed w/ the maid Molly. Emma then took sabbatical in Paris with her great aunt, Dora Rutledge, aunt of Emma's late mother, Beatrice. Emma has since returned to London, an empowered young woman. She is extremely well-bred, highly educated, but not at all snobbish. Personality: Emma is very spirited, passionate, and always speaks her mind. She has a fascination for all things new, be it structures, or ideas. Emma has a love of the arts, and is known to be found either reading or sketching in her quiet moments. She is very kind to everyone, and well liked. Emma has a special bond with the maid Bet, who is her friend and confidant. Since the break-up of Henry Jekyll with Emma's cousin Cordelia, Henry and Emma have been spending some time together. She feels they understand each other, having both endured broken engagements and loss. |
