Story.
Cody is
a fighter from Metro City; best friend of Guy and
is in a relationship with Jessica, the daughter of Mike Haggar; the Mayor
of Metro City and a professional wrestler. Hearing from Haggar that a criminal
gang had kidnapped Jessica, he and Guy joins forces with Haggar to topple
Mad Gear and get Jessica back. However, on defeating Mad Gear, he walks
away. Jessica asks him why he is leaving, and Cody replies that he wishes
he could stay, but he must go on to continue fighting and uphold justice
(Final Fight.)
He continued
to fight, but kept fighting on and on, becoming more brutal. Until one
day, on hearing that his girlfriend Jessica was missing, he began to fight
the lowlifes of Metro City to gain information on her whereabouts. However,
on gaining one piece of evidence, he found himself at the whim of Mad Gear,
and was thus jailed by Mad Gear's corrupt cop Edi.E for battery and assault.
Now dejected and fallen from his previous hero status, he breaks out of
prison to search for more fights. On his escape from the law, he managed
to meet Guy again. Guy was shocked- how could a hero of Metro City fall
so low to become a criminal on the run from the law. It was then where
Cody realised that he wasn't a hero, that he was just using justice as
an excuse to keep fighting and beat people up. Guy offers to set Cody back
on the right track, but realises that he must leave Cody to go on his own
path. They part, wondering if they'll ever meet again.
