Super Monkey Ball
By: Super-Vantendo

Release Date :

    November 18, 2001
Developer :    Amusement Vision
Publisher :    Sega
Rated :    E
Genre :    Puzzle/Action
Players :    1-4

Plot :

You select one of four different monkies (there's no difference between them I can see) and your monkey is incased inside a ball. There's all sorts of different games to play each of which has a time limit. There's monkey racing, monkey bowling, monkey golf, monky pool, monkey parasailing, monkey fighting and more. There are different items used for each game. The main game is an obstilcal corse you must run while collecting bananas. This game is probolly the only interation you'll ever have will monkies without the worry of getting a banana thrown at you.

Game play :

The gameplay is alot like spinning around in circles. If you like doing that, then this is the game for you. The main game is fun, but, you'll be surprised to find yourself for constantly cursing at your monkey for making him fall off the same exact spot. The race is fun but very hard to win. Again falling is a problem. In fact falling off the course is the main threat in the whole game. How original! The game play isn't bad, it just seems it isn't all there. The multiplayer is the games best point. If you're a lone gammer keep walking, but if you have lots of friends try this out.

Controls :

A = Different uses depending on the game, go forward though menus
B = Go back though menus
Control Stick = Move
Start Pause

Graphics :

The graphics could be better. The monkeies look kind of blocky and the environments are fake looking. Cute monkeies though. But, no matter how many monkies a game may have, it doesn't save the game.
