Turok Evolution

Now remind me, why exactly are dinosaurs extinct? Well you may belive that whole, meteor-hits-Earth-throwing-dust-high-into-the-atmosphere- blocking-out-the-sun-throwing-the-Earth-into-perpetiual-winter- freezing-all-the-dinosaurs-to-death-thingy or the slightly more resonable Turok theory. Acclaim's big dude with the big guns is back and more murderous than ever. Yay! Expect a M (mature) rating when the game comes out for Gamecube, September 1, 2002. The Turok series has evolved.
This game takes place before the origonal Turok on N64. It is a prequal that explains the origins of Turok. Not only does the game tell Turok's story but it gets back to the seriese's roots. For example the game's primary enironments have gone back to jungle rather than man made. But there will of course be other environments also. Canyons and cities have been seen in fotage but it seems the majority of the levels will be jungle.
And man is it ever detaled. Every single plant russles in the wind and the game doesn't slow down a bit. I mean EVERYTHING! Hundereds of plants. And remember in Jurassic Park where the bushes ruffled and you know there's a raptor stalking you. That's exactly what's going on here. But just as the dinos can hide from you in the shurbs you can hide from them along as you keep out of thier sight. This will be an important gameplay element as you will sometimes have to move slealthily though a level sniping dinosaurs as you run along. Plam trees sway. Insects hover here and there. Pterodactyls circle above and peaceful dinosaurs drink from a watering hole. Dinos leave footprints so you can track thier movements. And they are always on the move.They come in many different variations. Little and annoying ones or enourmous towering ones, the thunder lizards come in all shapes and sizes.
There is a new flight mode. In which you ride a Quetzalcoatlus, the largest flying dinosaur and blast things with a missile launcher. This can be used to get though the level fast or just for the heck of it. There will be four flight stages in the game. Is this the only creature Turok will ride in this game? Probolly not. We have yet to find any others but be sure more will be found...
Weapons. That's what you want to know, right? Well, there will be eight in all. Only eight? Don't be fooled, for you seem, for each weapon come many attachments that are to be collected changing the ammo used. A cool weapon seen was the spider robot. The tec bow is here of course. A little device that can be a mobile explosive, or make noices that will destract dinos and gaurds. There's a tomahawk/mace hybrid taht can be used to slice your way though the thick plants or slice a dinosaur to ground beef. Messy. Acclaim is being secretive of most of their weapons so keep in touch for more details.
