Former heavyweight top 10 contender Tommy Martin (#18) scores a 6th round KO of rookie Alf Langford (UR). Langford feels Martin's power a minute into the fight, and becomes very tentative. Martin tees off, landing bomb after bomb on the overmatched Langford. Alf lands a big shot that stuns Martin early in the 3rd, but Martin takes it and fights back hard as the round ends. Martin lands a nasty liver punch that puts Langford down for a 9 count in the 4th. Langford barely beats the count but he goes down again from a pretty weak combination a minute later. Langford recovers, but Martin continues to land flush right hands in round 5. Martin puts Langford down for a 6 count, with another body punch, and again with another body punch. Then Martin lands an uppercut right on the point of Alf's chin, and Alf finally stays down for the count.

Cruiserweight Marvin Camel (UR) wins a majority decision over Glenn McCrory (UR) in 10 rounds. It's a very even punch up until round 3 when McCrory starts to land more often, working inside. Camel makes the adjustment by round 5, and he flashes excellent hand speed while staying on the outside. The late rounds are very hard to score, as both fighters tire and the action falls off a bit. Camel convincingly wins the 10th round, and the majority decision 96-94, 95-95 and 96-94.

Cruiserweight James Salerno (UR) takes a unanimous decision in 8 from Lenzie Morgan (UR). Salerno patiently feels out Morgan in round 1, suddenly cutting loose with 30 seconds left to win the round. Morgan does better in round 2, scoring well to the body, and Salerno picks up a warning for a low blow. Salerno warms up and begins to punish Morgan in round 4, and Lenzie starts to sport a swollen shiner. Salerno stuns Morgan with a right hand in the 5th, and Morgan's eye starts to look ugly. Salerno realizes he has a big lead and stays away from Morgan who flurries big, but can't hurt Salerno. James takes the unanimous decision.

In the first battle of cruiser rookies tonight, Sebastian Rothman (UR) wins a unanimous decision over Miguel Cea (UR) in 8 rounds. Rothman warms up slowly, and Cea goes punch for punch with the stronger Rothman early. Sebastian starts to land his power shots in round 3, and Cea, who suffers a cut eye in the 3rd, doesn't throw nearly as often as the first 2 rounds. Rothman accelerates in the 4th, and Cea looks like he wants a place to hide late. Rothman finishes the fight banging away on the exhausted and swollen Cea, and Sebastian takes the unanimous decision.

Heavyweight Champion Zora Folley (Chmp) scores a 13th round TKO over Mike Schreck (#2) in a great fight. Schreck wins the first with his trademark swirling blitz of punches early. Folley gets slick in the 2nd, but plants his feet in the 3rd to trade with Schreck. Mike puts together a nice array of punches that has Folley wobbly in round 4. Folley hurts him with a right hand lead early in the 5th, but can't capitalize though Zora wins the round. Schreck takes a round off in the 6th, clinching often, and Zora outworks him on the inside. In the 7th, Folley continues his assault on the inside and drops Schreck with a nasty solar-plexus punch. Schreck is up at 4, but Folley continues to hammer away nearly the whole round. Schreck starts to swell on an eye from the pummeling. Folley continues to outwork Schreck, but the scoring is close through round 9. Schreck's swollen eye is almost shut by the 10th, and Folley starts landing every jab he throws. Schreck lands a shot that almost floors Folley in the 12th, but he's too tired to catch Zora with much of a follow up. Schrecks swollen eye merits a look from the doctor after the 12th, but the fight is allowed to continue. Folley tees off on the eye and after 2 more visits from the doctor, the fight is finally stopped. Folley retains his crown with a 13th round TKO.

In a see-saw slugfest, Elzear Rioux (#16) scores a 6th round TKO over Frankie Simms (#14). Rioux lands some punishing power punches early, but Simms keeps a much higher workrate to win the first 2 rounds. Then Rioux starts to land the heavy leather more often to make Simms go into defensive mode. Rioux stuns him with a right hand lead, then drops him for a 6 count in the 4th. Rioux looks fresh while Simms wobbles badly after the round. In an amazing sequence in round 5, Simms lands a hard right that breaks his hand, then a left hook that floors Rioux for a 6 count. More embarrassed than hurt, Elzear hangs on until the end of the round. Rioux recovers and starts hammering Simms, who can't throw the right hand anymore. Simms goes down from a right hand with a minute to go in the 6th. He's up at 8, but Rioux lays into him with hard combinations until the referee stops it.

Gerald "Tuffy" Griffith (#17) comes from behind to take a majority decision in 10 over rookie George Gemas (UR). Griffith seems out of sorts early, and Gemas takes the first 2 rounds while Griffith warms up. Griffith catches him with a body punch that seems to deflate Gemas in the 3rd, and Griffith opens up on the suddenly placid Gemas. George recovers to box well in the 5th, and Griffith eats a couple good counter left hooks while chasing Gemas around the ring. Gemas tires in the 5th and Griffith starts landing with more regularity. The action slows late, and the crowd in attendance boos the action mercilessly. Griffith scores a flash knockdown with 5 seconds left in the 9th, when Gemas relaxes a moment too early. Griffith keeps pounding away in the last round to steal the majority decision 96-95, 95-95 and 96-94.

In the opener, cruiserweight rookies Christophe Girard (UR) and Ladislao Mijangos (UR) fight to a majority draw in 8. Girard has his way early and Mijangos doesn't land a punch until the closing seconds of round 1. Mijangos lands a couple shots that stun Girard in the 4th, but Girard fights back hard in the last 30 seconds to make the round close. Mijangos catches Girard coming in with a perfect uppercut that drops Christophe for a 6 count. Mijangos lands 2 powerful roundhouse right hands in the follow up, and Girard looks bad at the end of the round. Early in round 6 Girard is cut over an eye by a right cross, and the doctor has a look. Then 1 minute later Mijangos suffers a bad gash. Bleeding and exhausted, both fighters throw defense to the wind and trade at ring center the last 2 rounds. Girard does enough those last 2 rounds to salvage a majority draw in a fight he was heavily favored to win.

Tommy Farr (#4) outlasts Amos Johnson (#3), taking a 12 round unanimous decision in a tactical war. Farr easily outboxes Johnson in the first. Johnson gets very aggressive, taking chances to try to land on the elusive Farr in round 2, scoring better but eating lots of counters. Farr remains untouchable early, scoring often with the jab, until round 5 when Johnson opens up, solidly winning the round. Johnson continues to win the middle rounds with his sharp jabs, and Farr's right eye begins to swell. Johnson seems to fade in the 9th and Farr starts to land regularly again. Farr outhustles Johson down the stretch to take the close unanimous decision. Farr wins his 8th straight bout.

Danny McAlinden (#10) wins a ten round unanimous decision over Hans Kalbfell (#13) in a bruising fight. Kalbfell comes out swinging and drops McAlinden with a right cross one minute into the fight. McAlinden rises at 5, and lacking a good defense, goes toe to toe with Kalbfell. Kalbfell wins the exchange, but McAlinden lands a left hook that backs him off for the last 30 seconds. Awesome first frame all around. McAlinden lands another hard left hook early in the 2nd, and Kalbfell gets gun-shy the rest of the round, allowing McAlinden to aggressively land some nice punches. McAlinden pushes his advantage in the 3rd, blasting Kalbfell to the canvas with a right hand from the parking lot. McAlinden piles on the pain as Kalbfell covers up. McAlinden mysteriously goes on defense in the 4th and Kalbfell seems recovered enough to stun McAlinden with a right hand as the round ends. McAlinden hurts Kalbfell again in the 5th, but looks tired as the round ends. The late action slows down considerably, but McAlinden lands more often late. McAlinden wins the upset unanimous decision.

In a nice brawl, George LaRocco (#15) wins a split decision over rookie Vittorio Campolo (UR) in 10. The action is very sparse indeed early, until LaRocco lands a thudding shot to the liver that drops Campolo for a 6 count, a minute into round 3. Campolo rises, but shows his inexperience by backing into a corner and covering up allowing LaRocco to wing shots at him until the bell. The pair trade at ring center for the next 2 rounds, with LaRocco having the advantage. The action slows again in round 7, but Campolo apparently wins the round, aggressively jabbing from long range. Sensing he's behind, Campolo goes all out in the final round, dropping LaRocco with a double left hook for an 8 count. Campolo throws everything he has at LaRocco in the final 2 minutes, but LaRocco survives to barely squeak out a split decision win 93-95, 95-94 and 95-93. LaRocco may crack the top ten with his 3rd straight victory.

In the opener, Joey DeGrandis (UR) wins a unanimous decision in 8 rounds over Saul Montana (UR). DeGrandis smoothly outboxes Montana early, and Montana's bull rushes mostly come up with air. Montana stuns Joey early in the 4th with a nasty uppercut, but DeGrandis fights back nicely resulting in a torrid, but even round. Montana seems to tire in the 5th, and DeGrandis keeps jabbing. Montana hurts DeGrandis with a booming left hook, and DeGrandis runs instead of fighting back this time. Montana seems punched out after this flurry, and DeGrandis returns to smartly pecking away while remaining an elusive target. Montana flurries in the last round, but DeGrandis has done enough to win it.
