This site was created for the "Making a Difference" part of Breakout. Breakout is a year-long project that is given to the Freshmen at my Junior High. Each student picks an interest to do a report on. Most people choose a controversial topic that they feel deeply for, such as what I did. Others choose something that they like, such as a sport, musical instrument, or volunteer work. We take notes on 20 sources, and write up annotations for each source. Most students hated that part. After the long, tedious hours at note taking (not to mention the hundreds of wrist cramps), we each had to do a project called "Making A Difference." These projects can be anything from volunteer work to a website, such as the one shown on your computer screen at the moment. At the end of the year, we host a "Breakout Night" in the school gym, where the students build a booth and present their information to parents and any interested students that happen to walk by. For more information on this, use the "Contact Me" section of the site. |
