  The Story:
Tails is enjoying his favorite holiday spot, Tails Island, an island he named after himself since he discovered it. Tails is taking a peaceful nap until intruders fly over his island throwing bombs as part of Tails Island was set on fire. It was an army of birds who wanted to take over Tails Island and call it their own. Grab some bombs and head off on your island, you'll need all the help you can get to save Tails Ilsand from the Bird Army.

  The Gameplay:
Tails Skypatrol is nothing like this title. It's an RPG type action, puzzle game. You must reach the end of each level, and you also must backtrack to get items you couldn't get before.

Tails moves are walk, jump, duck, look up, fly, and throwing bombs. You have 10 hits on your health meter at first and 3 seconds on your flight meter. Your flight meter is how long you can fly, to replenish it you must land. Rings will help restore your health, to collect them you can collect them by breaking rocks open. You can also collect all 6 Chaos Emeralds which will give you 99 hits on your Health Meter and 15 seconds of flight.

Tails island has twelve levels which are as follows: Poloy Forest, Volcanic Tunnel, Polly Mountain 1, Caron Forest, Green Island, Cavern Island, Lake Rocky, Lake Crystal, Polly Mountain 2, Coco Island, Battle Fortress 1 and Battle Fortress 2. There are also 26 items to collect, although you can only bring 4 on a mission.
