The levels are simple, where you turn left or right to control and that's about it. No enemies except the trees and so on, the other characters aren't too bright to be harmful. Use the D-Pad to control and Button 2 accelerates, button 1 brakes.

Chaos GP is the main game, which winning is to be in first place. Each race has 3 laps in it. The winner of the grand prix is determined by who has the most points, 3 points for first place, 2 for second, 1 for third, and nothing for fourth.

There are 3 seperate Grandprix modes to play in, Green, Yellow, and Red. There are 6 courses in each Grandprix, each Grandprix gets harder, Green the easiest, Yellow harder, and Red the hardest. 18 tracks of all with each 6 having different backdrops. After you complete and win the Red Grandprix, you get a short animation ending with your character you choose.

Besides obsticles in each course, there are also items to collect like rings. The courses are from Sonic 1 which are Green Hill, Marble, Spring Yard, Labyrinth, Star Light, and Scrap Brain.
