Move 121B: No More Bugs

Tunnel beneath the Thornwood--25 Eleasias 1374 DR

The remainder of the group rejoined Lasiar, Rumer, and Falgout a little farther down the tunnel. Lasiar was bandaging up a badly wounded Falgout while Rumer watched. The remains of the bug that had attempted to escape down the tunnel lay on the floor, its red lights still glowing.

"These look like they will take a little more than just bandages, Falgout." Lasiar grasped his holy symbol, murmured a fervent prayer to Selune, and then touched Falgouts wounds.

Arachne had waited while others dispatched the threatening bugs. While Lasiar dealt with Falgout, she examined the still-glowing red lights on the bug.

Rumer went over and tried to pick up one of the red lights--carefully, so as not to burn her hand if it's hot. "Do you think we could use these and spare our lantern?" she asked.

Closer examination of the lights on the bug by both Rumer and Arachne revealed that they were not hot and they could probably be removed with a knife if one was carefully. The two lights on the bug's head were set behind its eyes. There was also a third, smaller light on its abdomen.

Rumer looked at the lights closely, "What did you want to do with them Arachne?" She asked curiously, noting that the psionicist was also interested.

Lasiar glanced over at the wound-be surgeons and shook off his confusion by looking at Falgout's wounds. "You are still looking a little like a stitched up zombie there, my friend. Let's ask Selune for another, especially if we are going to continue onward." Lasiar grasped his holy symbol and fervently prayed to Selune on Falgout's behalf.

Renn stopped to look at the dissection of the beetle. "You know, ladies, that there is a second bug back up where we first stumbled across them. The third, it escaped up the tunnel," Rennirolas said as he paused to touch one of the 'eyes' with his forefinger. "Strange, indeed," he smiled.

As Lasiar finished a second healing blessing, Rennirolas examined the members of the band with a healer's practiced eye. "Rumer, Lasiar, if you would allow it, I have two minor healing blessings at my disposal," Renn said evenly.

"I would be amenable to that." Lasiar grinned at Renn. "So long as Falgout is in a better condition. If not, then I would suggest healing him with your offer." Lasiar examined the effects of his last attempt.
