Rules of the Bladesmen

Here is the breakdown of rules and procedures of the Bladesmen. Not complete as of yet, but will be soon.

1) Serve Lathander unquestioningly, follow his dogma and protect his ideals as best you can

2) Aid any decent soul in need, we will spred hope as best we can, and help humankind and it's allies

3) Fight the enemies or Lathander, from Talos to the Undead we will battle any who oppose the morning lord

4) Protect the other Bladesmen, they are your brothers and sisters, defend them with your life

Voting: This group is going to be run democraticly in 99% of non-battle situations. Voting works on a seniority basis. A member joining the Bladesmen has 1 vote, each year they stay with the group they get an aditional vote ( ie after beening with us 1 year you will have two votes ect )Members joining pre-alfa will be assumed to have been with us a year and will begin with 2 votes

Rational: You may be asking "why this voting system?" Well there is a couple reasons, first it prevents a leader from being influenced by outside forces. Second it promotes equality as all members will have a say and an impact on the group. The senority system will also prevent infiltrators from adversly effecting the group as the will only have a single vote. I think the system should promote good RPing and mantain a positive atmosphere in the faction as there will be no resentment from a single leader forcing the group in a direction. If this doesn't seem to work once the game starts it can be revampted. Now your thinking "yea but all the arguing and people yelling at each other will make that a difficult process" well i though of that

Procedure: When there are different views in the guild we will have an ORGANIZED procedure to debate things. while it's not likely to have too many votes, as Lathanders will should be rather obvious in most cases, if there is a debate it will be handled this way:

Each side will have one primary debator, each will have 5 (irl) minutes to discuss there views, then, anyone in the guild who wishes to add or make a counter point can have up to 3 minutes to make there case. At anypoint if the commander thinks the debate has said all it needs to, reached an impass, or one side has an overwhelming majority of suporters, he can all for the vote

Treasury issues: other guilds have rules such as "give 10% of the treasure you find to the guild" not us, if adventuring solo you keep what you find. If were travelling together, things will be distributed as fairly as possible. The only exception being the gold and non-magic gems we find, some will be used for the groups lodging, healing, food, and such, excess money will be distrubuted. I'll put a small addendum here, once the group gets larger ( 15 or so ) we may set aside a small precentage of any large cache or treasure we may run into for some sort of fortress or stronghold.

Positions:

Commander: The commander has authority in battle. He decides when to attack, retreat, persue enemies and so forth. Also moderates debates and votes and excepts new members, unless some guild member wishes to challege that descion and put it to a vote.

Second in Command: Takes Commanders position if he is absent, incapacitated, killed, or otherwise unfit to lead
