Motto Lotto


DCOC's motto "Death before Dishonour" was decided way back in June 1994.

Here is a reprint of the original promotion, and it should be noted that the refernece to the Clubs Coat of Arms (thistle, shamrock, flag, daggers) also gets a mention.

Jumping June - it's time for a decision.

If we want to have a motto included on these new shirts then NOW is the time to decide of what we might have as a club motto. 
Something simple, pithy and pointed without being obscene would be good. 
A motto that will mean you can wear the shirt anywhere, not just the club, for example!

It can express the club crest and symbols or be a statement evoking our character as players and a club (i.e. a motto unconnected with the crest).

These are the alternatives already proposed.
 1. Courage, Luck, Honour and Faith (thistle, shamrock, flag, daggers).
 2. Vigilance, Luck, Nation, Strength (or Home instead of Nation).
 3. Et tu, DCOC? (A la Caesar's last words).
 4. Courage conquers all. (Ovid)
 5. Victory is a thing of the will. (General Ferdinand Foch, France WW1)
 6. Victory, not peace!. (as Tacitus)
 7. Victory or death!
 8. Trust Me.
 9. Who Dares, Wins. (motto of the Special Air Service)
10. Death and Dishonour. (as Death before Dishonour)
11. Fortune Favours the Brave.
12. Unbeatable.
13. Master of One, Ally of None.
14. Born to Rule.
15. Divide and Conquer.
16. Blood and Iron. (as Bismarck; Blut unt Eisen).
17. Hard bargains and cold steel.
18. The Will to Win.
19. The Stab is mightier!
