CAELONIAN
They are humandoid spiders with 2 legs and 6 arms. Have 10 eyes on their head, (2 in front, 2 of each side, 2 on top, and 2 in back). They are yellow and have an exoskeleton. All limbs have retractable climbing claws. Can walk/run like humans or on all 8 limbs. Their larynx and vocal cords are highly flexible and resilient so they can learn to speak languages humanoids are incapable of speaking. Their language consists of clicks, whistles, and hisses, though they are able to speak normal humanoid languages perfectly because of their amazing vocal cords and larynx. In addition to an exoskeleton they also have a regular endoskeleton. Can make a decent living selling their spider silk, and a few use their silk to make expensive clothing. Primarily feed by drinking blood, but can also eat meat and drink other liquids, some like fruit juices. They consider blood pudding to be a delicacy. Their planet has one ruler, called the Primarch. The Primarch is neither an elected or inherited position. Every 10 years all Caelonians of over 30 years old, (male or female), who wish to become the Primarch must take multiple tests of many different subjects, (history, science, diplomacy, etc). To advance to the next step they must score 80% or more on all the tests. Those who score under 80% do not advance to the next step. The next step entales all who scored over 80% going into an arena! All the candidates enter at once in a massive free for all to the death. The only one to live becomes the Primarch! So, to become the Primarch requires more than just warrior skills, you must have great scholastic knowledge and intelligence as well. The Primarch has 12 Councilors he selects, each one is a specialist in one or more areas. The Primarch will often consult with the Councilors on important matters, but he doesn't have to adhere to their recommendations and can replace them at his will.
