Athenian Prison

This is a model prison, based off a reconstruction in the book Daily Life in Classical Athens and Rome, by Peter Connolly. Its actual counterpart was inside Athens proper. (Oooh, it would have been a neat idea to include a picture of the original painting. Maybe later.) The model I have below is a little less complex, a bit smaller, and somewhat more rustic. It would be an ideal structure outside a pollis proper, in which event it could double as a stronghold during times of invasion. A 'realistic' length would be about twice as long, IMO that would be a little too big for a proper battlefield setting.

I also have cutout template, sooner or later I will make an electronic version and include some instructions to facilitate building your own. But until then enjoy the pictures!
