SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS
-------------------
-TI-92 with Fargo 0.2.7.1 or higher
-About 13K to store the program
-Free memory (4K?) to run it
-Libraries: FLIB and LINELIB (LINELIB included)

OR

-TI-92+
-About 15K to store the program
-Free memory (4K?) to run it
-Plusshell libraries: UTIL and LINELIB (LINELIB included)

INSTALLATION
------------
For a TI-92, make sure you have fargo installed and send monop.92 and
        linelib.92p to the calculator.
With the TI-92+, send monop.9xz and linelib.9xz to the calculator. You
will also need the plusshell UTIL library.

If you don't have the libraries, get them from www.ticalc.org

INSTRUCTIONS
------------
If you don't know the rules of Monopoly, you can find them somewhere
else :) If you do know the rules, it should be pretty self-explanatory. Right
now there are 3 players named Daniel, Brian, and Jean (I'm Daniel and I always
play monopoly with Brian and his mom Jean). Press enter to roll the dice and
do almost anything else you need to do. On the left is a display of the board
and in the center of this are instructions and a description of the "current"
property. On the right side of the screen is scrolling text that describes
what is happening in the game. In the status line there is sometimes
pertinent information.
The calculator will usually tell you what keys you can press to do
what you want to do. The exceptions are listed below (If you forget them,
just press MODE):

APPS: This key will interrupt the game. This means that if another player
is about to roll the die but you want to buy houses or something, you
can press this key. You will then get a list of players. Select your
player and then you can do stuff like buy/sell houses or (un)mortgage
        properties.
V: This will let you view properties. It will show the basically all
the information there is about the "current" property. (This means
who owns it, how many houses it has, what the rent is, etc.) Press
left or right on the d-pad to view a different property. This feature
is the only way right now to figure out who has what.
G: This doesn't work yet :(, but it's the next thing I'm going to add.
Pressing this button will let you give another player a property or
money. This will be how you will have to make trades. Agree on the
trade between yourselves and then give eachother the stuff.
D: This shows you the debug/cheat menu. You can do a lot of stuff from
there :) I don't think any of it will crash the calc, but you can
        never be sure...
MODE: Shows the help screen which is basically a shortened version of this
        list.

That pretty much explains the game, I think.

This version isn't all that playable with the lack of trading, community chest
and chance, and bankruptcy. However, I hope to have those added rather soon.

VERSION HISTORY
---------------

ALPHA 1 (First official release, but I don't think I gave it to anyone :) ):

Scrolling text on right side of screen.
Rolling dice, doubles work correctly.
Jail fully implemented (if you land on go to Jail or roll doubles 3 times)
Luxury tax works
Purchasing properties works (Auctioning doesn't. According to the official
monopoly rules, if you decide not to buy a property, it gets auctioned
off by the bank. Right now, if you choose to auction it, it simply
        will remain unowned.)
Rent works on properties
Buying/Selling houses implemented correctly (Except the 32 house/12 hotel
limit is not yet in there)
2-6 players by editing the numplayers value and recompiling the program :)
(note that this value needs to be 1 if you want 2 players, 2 if you
        want 3 players, etc.)
BETA:

Rent now works for Railroads and Utilities
Changed names of first 3 players to "Daniel," "Brian," and "Jean." (Me and
the ppl I play monopoly with all the time :).
Greatly improved the interface.
Added "interrupting" by pressing APPS.. you can buy houses when its not your
        turn.
You can now mortgage properties.
Added online help (Sort of).
Added the 'v' key.
Maybe some other stuff I forgot.

PLANNED ADDITIONS
-----------------

Trading!
Community Chest and Chance
Bankruptcy
Finishing the game :)
Maybe eventually I'll write computer AI routines so you can play against your
        calculator :)

COPYRIGHT INFO
--------------

This game is copyrighted 1998 by Daniel Plaisted.
I take no responsibility for whatever this game does to your calculator. I
don't think there are any calculator-crashing bugs, but then again I've been
writing it mostly on the 92+ or Tiger.
Please do not distribute an altered version unless:
        1) You get my permission
        2) You want to port it to a newer version of Fargo or the like
and you can't seem to get in touch with me. Still send me an
           e-mail though.
If you want to port it to another calculator that's fine with me, but I'd
like to hear about it.

CONTACT INFO
------------
I would really love to get any comments, suggestions, bugs reports, or
whatever about my game :) I want suggestions pretty badly... such as how to
change the interface to make the game easier to play. Also, just tell me what
you think of the games so far. Come on, e-mail me. I SAID, E-MAIL ME!!! :)

OTHER INFO
----------
If you don't have Fargo or plusshell, or need basically anything at all for
any Texas Instruments graphing Calculator, go to www.ticalc.org.
BTW I am only uploading it to there and not the TI-Philes. Not that I have
anything against them...

if you have access to irc then #ti on efnet is a channel that pretends to
be about TI calculators. It is about 10% of the time maybe. :)

THANKS TO
---------

David Ellsworth for having a HUGE Fro and for making fargo
Rusty Wagner for Plusshell
Bryan (or Brian?) Rabeler and all the ticalc.org staff for maintaining
the best TI site on the 'net.
Jean Bolduc for instilling me with the love of Monopoly and teaching how to
kick her butt in it. And for playing and losing to me in Scrabble
        lots of times :)
Other ppl for helping me learn Assembly.
