The Sea

Sailing on the waves of time
lost in the bright white nothingness,
the thought does come, as it comes to all,
why, oh why, all this pointlessness?

We are all lost sailors, are we not, on this
drear and empty sea,
yet if we find the end who's to say that we
will have found that all is for nought?

'To search, or not - that is the question.'
quoth a sailor of yore - though he said it
not in this way...
yet that was the point, was it not, on that
long ago day?

And so I say to you, you sailors of time,
do not let your boats to drift and sway,
point the prow at the great shore,
and find what point there is this day.
