Version 1.0 = Initial public release. 12/17/2023
Version 1.1 = Added Shaman page, rename and 50% dragon spell AP cost options, and added 7 new spells for damage editing. 1/2/2024
Version 1.2 = Added new page for Shops and Treasure chests. 1/6/2024
Version 1.3 = Added page for Cooking, new weapon and chest options, etc. 1/12/2024
Version 1.4 = Added "Enemy Type" editing. 8/19/2025

Version 1.4 update details:
On the "Enemy" page, you can now edit what 'Type' of enemy each enemy is. This will determine their elemental weakness, resistances, and immunities. There is also a new button that shows what different hex values you can use for different types of enemies. Thanks to Naro for the suggestion and info on this.

Version 1.3 update:
Added a new page for Cooking where you can edit which item you get from failed recipes (normally Charcoal), or always get double items from recipes. Can now edit weapons so they hit twice, target all enemies, or combine both of those. Also added a new option where you can open treasure chests as many times as you want. Added a warning about editing Ryu's starting stats too high which can cause issues with his first battle with the Beak (his HP needs to get low enough so Ganer can come to the rescue).

Version 1.2 update:
Added a new page for editing what's for sale in many of the shops in the game, and how much it costs to stay at Inns/motels. Also added editing for how much Zenny you get for all of the treasure chests/dressers/bookcases in the game that contain Zenny, and you can edit which items you get in some of the treasure chests.

Version 1.1 update:
Added a new page for editing Shaman stat boosts and fusions (you can have any character (including Ryu) do fusions with any Shaman). Can now re-name characters (Retranslation version only for now), added a 50% option for Dragon spell AP cost (thanks to praetarius5018 for the correct SNES instruction for that) and moved this option to the "Spells" page. Also added strength editing for 7 new Dragon spells: FirPuppy, IcePuppy, T.Puppy, FireDrgn, IceDrgn, T.Drgn, and G.Drgn in the Spells page. Thanks to Maeson and praetarius5018 for detailed technical info on the Shaman stuff.

This program lets you edit lots of stuff in your Breath of Fire 2 game, and you can then patch the changes into your ROM.

Will work on these ROMs: SNES USA (all versions including Beta, and Virtual Console/Switch), SNES European, SNES "Retranslation" patch (versions 1.1b and 1.2b have been tested so far) and both of the "Retranslation" optional patches included in it's zip file ("Original Title Screen Music" and "Through the Fire and Flames"). Any of the SNES ROMs can be with or without the 200 byte header, with the exception of the "Retranslation" (which requires no header). Will also work on GBA (Game Boy Advance) USA and European ROMs, although a few things in the editor are not compatible with GBA ROMs.

Special thanks to ThegreatBen and praetarius5018 from RHDN for supplying me with lots of useful technical info for this game. Also like to thank all the really helpful people on the RHDN forums for giving me tons of help with details for this game. This editor would only be half of what it is without their help.

There are some Game Genie codes included in this zip file.

IMPORTANT:
If you're using this editor with a previously saved game, it's best to use an "in-game" save file, and not an emulator save state. A pre-existing emulator save state may not show any changes you patched into your ROM, but a previously saved game that uses an "in-game" save file will almost always work.

When patching, you can decide if you want it to create a new ROM or not. If you do make a new ROM, the program will automatically add "Patched" to the end of your file name, which makes it easy to remember which file was patched, although you can name the new file anything you want as long as it's not the same as the original file name. This keeps your original ROM safe.

There are some Help/info buttons in the editor that should answer any questions.

Shouldn't need any additional files if you're using Windows (uses the .net framework).
