Boston

Beantown

Boston is the oldest city in the country which has consistently held a vampiric presence. The Malkavian Trelain Carver (a.k.a. The Prince of Nightmares a.k.a. Fear) proclaimed Princedom over the city near the end of the 18th century during the American Revolution and held for a century. He disappeared mysteriously, with the help of Tremere clan elder Nero Black.

Turns out Carver never left, but gained control over the new Prince, a Tremere named Ashcroft. This wasn’t discovered until 1999, when a full scale siege occurred. Also turns out Carver was Sabbat, which meant that Ashcroft was controlled by the Sabbat, which ended up being generally bad for the city of Boston. Two Justicars and a small fleet of Archons were called in, and a full scale war occurred. Ashcroft was killed, as were a couple of Camarilla agents. It ended up with a new Prince in Ventrue Isiah Jericho and a new Tremere clan elder (a high-ranking elder) in Nero Black. Tensions between the two are never calm.

The leader of the Anarch movement (which favors the Ventrue slightly simply because they are not Tremere) is a revolutionary war hero named Ransom. He leads the Massachusetts Minutemen Militia, which is a well-armed, well-funded (Ventrue money?) group of Kindred which fairly actively opposes the Tremere. It has quieted down (and dwindled in size) the last couple of years with Nero Black in town.

There are thirteen street influences for any purpose you may be pursuing.

Key Kindred:

  • Adrian

A local Brujah who’s into gunrunning and smuggling. Hasn’t been seen around for upwards of a year.

  • Calyx

A new Brujah to town. Works with Adrian and does business with anyone who will do business.

  • Constance

One of Nero’s goons, she is not terribly liked nor terribly powerful. An easy target for Anarch angst.

  • Isiah Jericho

The Prince of Boston, he is a former transplant from New York. A likeable politician, fairly well respected (for a Ventrue) by the Anarchs.

  • Kennedy

Jericho's second and Ventrue Primogen, he is the go between from the Prince to the Anarchs and vice versa. Well respected in Anarch circles.

  • Kirkpatrick

The city’s most Anarchistic Nosferatu, he’s a part-time member of the Militia.

  • Natasha

The city’s ravishingly beautiful Toreador elder. Not liked by any of the Anarchs – Venus in particular holds a special place of hatred reserved in her heart for her.

  • Nero Black

The epitome of evil as far as the Anarchs are concerned. An extremely powerful Tremere elder, the Princedom is his if he says the word.

  • Quinn

The Toreador member of the Militia, who in God’s name knows this one’s motives? He is quite reknowned for his theater skills, as an actor, director and a playwright.

  • Ransom

The leader of the Massachusetts Minuteman Militia, pictures of him adorn certain Independence Halls across the country. Very famous for his heroics in the American Revolution. Very anti-establishment, anti-organization. Quarterfinalist in the last Tontine.

  • Trinity

A part time member of the Militia. Whether or not Trinity shows up seems to be a whim of the gods.

  • Tybalt

Another of Ransom’s Militia. Probably the most level-headed of the bunch, he is the one most tolerated by the establishment.

  • Unger

A Caitiff arms dealer. Known to work with the Militia.

  • Venus

Ransom’s right hand bitch and a faithful member of the Militia. Very uncouth, very rude, very angry. Not stupid, however, she controls a certain amount of influence over Boston’s labor unions.
