Cold based Spells
Ice Bolt: Level 1
Requirements= None
"Creates a magical bolt of ice that damages and slows the target". Much like the Fire Bolt from the Fire Tree but discharging a missile of ice. This will momentarily chill and slow the monster providing you some time to finish it off. This is a nice cheap skill to use {3 mana no matter what skill level}, and although the cold damage increase is negligible, the duration a foe is chilled and slowed for rises by a healthy 8 seconds per skill point. With a rapid fire rate the Sorceress can easily render a large group of approaching monsters or ranged magic users 'slow mo' in a matter of seconds.
Cold Damage: Starts at 3-5 and increases by 1 to min and max
Cold Length: Starts at 8 sec and increases by 8 sec
Mana Usage: Remains at 3
Frozen Armor: Level 1
Requirements= None
"Increases your defense rating and freezes enemies that hit you". Best suited to ranged combat the Sorceress still needs to pay some attention to her defense rating for unavoidable melee contact. This skill offers her this option right from the start so she's well advised to put one of the first skill points here. A Sorceress with 27 Dexterity and a basic armour adding 10 to defense can reduce her chances of being hit by a monster from 58% to 52% with a level 2 Frozen Armor activated. This skill erects a sort of armour shield around her character for a specified time during which she can still use other skills. It'll remain active until the time is up or she casts Shiver or Chilling Armor {see below}. A foe striking the Sorceress whilst she has this active will be frozen and although the period of freezing rises very slowly with more skill points, multiple enemies can be halted simultaneously. It doesn't cause any cold damage to enemies but if they are killed whilst frozen they're more often than not shattered into slithers of ice. This is particularly handy when meleeing with creatures who travel with their Shaman as they are unable to resurrect their shattered minion. By character level 12 though, the added damage of Shiver Armor coupled with the freezing capabilities of Ice Blast is a more efficient, albeit more mana hungry, combination. Frozen Armor does not offer any additional protection from projectile attacks, for that you need Chilling Armor. A little added benefit is the increase in light radius which you can see demonstrated in the animation of a level two Frozen Armor.
Defense Bonus : Starts at 30% and increases by 5%
Duration: Starts 120 seconds and increases by 12 seconds
Freezes: Starts at 1.2 seconds and increases by 0.1 seconds
Mana Usage: Remains at 7
Frost Nova: Level 6
Requirements= None
"An explosion of cold, that slows nearby enemies". An excellent looking spell this one. This will radiate a ring of frost that will slow down your opponents and deal them some minor damage. Quite costly but covers a lot of ground in one click. The distance Frost Nova radiates doesn't increase with more points but as you'll see from the second screenshot, taken just as the frost in the Nova has disappeared, it pretty much covers most of the visible screen.

Freezes: Starts at 8 seconds and increases by 4 seconds
Mana Usage: Starts at 9 and increases by 2
Ice Blast: Level 6
Requirements= Ice Bolt {1}
"Cast a magical ball of ice that damages and freezes your enemy". As you would guess from the name, a more powerful version of Ice Bolt. This one inflicts much more damage, and splashes, with the possibility of freezing other nearby monsters as well. Although it doesn't freeze for as long as Frost Nova, the greater damage and negligible mana rise coupled with the fact that it can reach the sneaky camping projectile foe tucked in corners makes it of more use in the underground labyrinths.
Cold Damage: Starts at 10 and increases by 7
Freezes: Starts at 3 sec and rises by 1 second
Mana Usage: Starts at 6 and rises by .5
Shiver Armor: Level 12
Requirements= Ice Bolt {1} Frozen Armor {1} Ice Blast {6}
"Damage and slow your enemies when they try to attack". There are a couple of duplicate features to its prerequisite, Frozen Armor. Both skills duration and defense bonus are identical at each skill level. Shiver Armor doesn't freeze those that come into contact with it, like Frozen Armor but it does slow their attacks and of course adds a cold damage bonus. A Sorceress with 27 Dexterity and a basic armour adding 10 to defense can reduce her chances of being hit by a monster to 50% with just one point in this skill. At skill level one the protective shield will last for 2 minutes and as with the Paladin's auras can be activated prior to stepping through a portal or waypoint. So if you're stepping into a war zone down there you'll have the added projection before you even gather your bearings. As with Frozen Armor this does not offer any additional protection from projectile attacks, for that you need Chilling Armor. A little added benefit is the increase in light radius which you can see demonstrated in the animation of a level one Shiver Armor.

Glacial Spike: Level 18
Requirements= Ice Bolt {1} Ice Blast {6}
"Cast powerful ice missile". This skill is the next step up in power from Ice Blast. A frozen projectile that does freezing ice damage, and also shoots out shrapnel in several directions, freezing any monsters near the target.
Blizzard: Level 24
Requirements= Ice Bolt {1} Frost Nova {6} Ice Blast {6}
Glacial Spike {18}
"Cast a storm of a destructive nature". An area attack spell, this will confuse and deal a high level of cold damage to foes, although it does not freeze them. Blizzard can stack, so mana permitting, the Sorceress {and Blizzard-using foe} can amass quite a veritable sea
Chilling Armor: Level 24
Requirements= Ice Bolt {1} Frozen Armor {1} Ice Blast {6} Shiver Armor {12}
"Armor bonus against ranged attackers". Will increase the armour rating of the Sorceress and will discharge ice missiles at foes attacking with missiles.
Frozen Orb: Level 30
Requirements= Ice Bolt {1} Frost Nova {6} Ice Blast {6}
Glacial Spike {18} Blizzard {24}
"A pulsating orb of frozen death". A blue orb will move from overhead, spins and fires out 2-3 dozen cold blasts administering cold damage and freezing all those it passes over. An image of the icon has not yet been released.
Cold Mastery: Level 30
Requirements= None
Passive. "Reduces enemy's resistance". Reduces target's resistance, by a % per point added, to the Sorceress cold-based attacks.
