~Heroes Darby & Astera marry!
Much to the surprise of all of their friends, the two tied the knot under the watchful eyes of many citizens in a ceremony in Moorgate's Market led by Wedding Official Penilord. Reports are that Darby was bleary-eyed and "wonky" throughout the wedding and smelled of whiskey. Astera giggled and coo'd her way through the ceremony and issued a, "Oh! I love Dandy!" Bystanders reminded Astera she was indeed married to DARBY not Dandy at which point the newlywed said, "Ok, I love him too!"
After a bit of staggering on Darby's part, he seemed to realise he was married and the couple went off to "make tea." Penilord seemed quite happy at the whole event and encouraged the couple to drink up from his stash of special libations.
~Reporter Bears brings breaking news:
"the king of iles dead and shaxl framed sabin
shaxl wants rule the iles with a ironhand and elite guard are being stoped by shaxl bears spying on sabin shaxl and even you?"
A panel of translation experts have reviewed Bears' report and give the following analysis: "King Pellinore of the Isles is dead. It is believed Shaxul has framed Elite Guard Captain Sabin in an attempt to rule the Isles mercilessly. Shaxul is successfully defending off attacks by the Elite Guard. Beware, Bears could be spying on you as well."
~The Editor issues the following correction:
The new Monk's Guild is not opened. The Monk's new guild is having some contract disputes with the Dwarves that built it so the new guild house has been roped off for safety reasons until inspectors can give the nod to opening it in full.
~Observers at the Pass and a Monk's Guild spokesman report Oda Nobunaga is lost, presumed dead, in the pass after a battle duel with Shadowcat. Asked for comment, GM Honore states, "I refuse to believe it, and we are in an in-depth search for him as I speak."
Inside sources reveal everyone on the Search and Rescue team has high hopes but if required this mission can move from a missing person search to a cadaver recovery if evidence of life are not soon found. Based on footprints found near the sight, things are looking bright.
~Fighter's Guild elects new GM. After brisk voting led to a run-off election, former GL Fjorgynn is voted in and now settling into the office formerly held by Hoggel. When asked for comment, Fjorgynn choked up and issued, "I feel honored to have been chosen and will do my best to have the best guild in the land."
~Monk's Guild elects new GL. Guildvotes were tallied and Brother Sunfire was named Lieutenant. On a side note, speculation is that Nymue is heavy odds favorite for Guild Ambassador position if current Ambassador, Oda Nobunaga, is in fact deceased.
~April Fool's Day brought great mischief to Moorgate. Pounding hooves, swirling winds and warnings of imminent peril rang out. What was it? A bizarre invasion of cows and a flanking legion of goats invaded the East Gate! April FARM's Day?
~After an accidental mis-buy of Guildluck this round. The Guildluck schedule is altered to give the Thieves an extra day from the Monks:
Fighters April 4 - 6
Thieves April 7 - 10 (reflects the +1 day of Monks in compensation)
Monks April 11 - 12 (reflects the -1 day to Thieves in compensation)
Mages April 13 - 15
~From the interior of Darkwell. Initially random troll scouts in the form of Elders and Champions were seeming to spy on the North and East gates, only to be slaughtered by citizens. Now it seems their attacks are becoming stronger. Talk is that a large party of drunken adventurers stumbled upon the cave mouth entrance in the woods
but have been unable to locate it since. (***also see Invasions)
Vistilantus, alive-dead-buried-now-Lich Legend Warlock issues he and his backers offered their full support to the Troll Queen and swore to battle any citizen that stands in their way.
~Reminder: Interguild Tournament to be held April the 14th at 3pm EST. Requirements: there will be a fighter, thief, monk and mage on every team of 4. You must all register your teams by the day prior to the start of the tournament with any guild officer at a cost of 1000 gold per your level. Good Luck to participants.

~Fjorgynn named New Fighter GM (see headlines). Vorlock to remain as Fighter's GL, elections to be held though Guildvote for Barbarian's GL to replace the position vacated by Fjorgynn and for the Ranger's GL as Melizande has resigned her GL position citing dedication to the paper.
~Monk's Guild names Sunfire as new GL. (see headlines)
~The Mages Guild reports no announcements and is not is the sole guild not in an election mode at the moment.

Shaxul, how long have ye been in these lands called Cosrin? It has been nine years (14 now) since m'Lord bade me to cross the Great Ocean and retrieve an artifact.
What is thy intrest in the thieves guild? The Thieves do not tout their honor, nor do they lay claim to having any. They have no problem admiting they serve their own interests. For these reasons I trust them. They dwell in the shadows and seek to obtain "the instant kill," for that, I love them.
Is there a special lady in thy life? If yes, who? If no, what do ye look for? There is no one in my life. I have given it over to m' Lord, Loki.
What do ye hope to accomplish here in these lands? Only I am privy to my agenda.
Where did ye come from? Do ye plan on staying around or are ye a restless soul? I came from across the Great Ocean. I will not speak of my land. I am here right now. The future is promised to no one.
Do ye have any hobbies other then torture? If yes, what are they?
Slashing, slicing, stabbing, killing and .... baking cakes. Laugh and ye die.
Slowly.
What is thy favorite monster to fight? Which is thy favorite monster to have kill people who get on thy nerves? I do not care what I fight, as long as it's last breath is like a soothing breeze and I can watch it's eyes grow dim. I like to summon a Shadow Wraith.It is quite amusing the way they deliver death. I get that warm, fuzzy feeling when they slay a fool.
What is thy favorite tavern? I do not frequent pubs.
What is thy favorite drink? There is but one drink. Guinness.
What do ye think of butt kissers? What do ye do to butt kissers? I despise butt kissers. I prefer to have my boots licked in stead. Yes, a boot licker is better than a butt kisser. There is a little trick that m' Lord, Loki, taught to me. I make a claw with my hand, then I jam it into the small of the back, grasp it and RIP it out of their body. This is what I do to butt kissers. If I am feeling particularly nice at the time, I impale
them as well.

~The Gate House - Invasion News~
News of Invasions that plague the peaceful streets and causeways of Moorgate shared here. Deaths, Survivors, Creatures, Tactics submitted by YOU, the reader.
~The distant beating of troll drums ceased amidst retreat by the Troll army after a huge group of citizens slaughtered hundreds of trolls and the Troll Queen day 9 of First Growth.
The trolls pulled a sneak attack without warning and soon Legend Icejester, Sterich, Sunfire and Magdin were leading a large group in the massive assault in the defense of Moorgate. At first the trolls made headway but made the tactical error of foolishly having ushered their Queen in towards the front lines at which point Sterich hit a final blow killing her.
The trolls seemed to retreat after that and scurry back down the causeways out of sight in a mass return to their Caverns. Prince Jurano issued thanks to the people of Moorgate along with small rewards.

~Word Around Moorgate~

~Word around Moorgate is....Cosrin's two most eligible bachelors coincidentally are both looking to settle down and have been seen casting 'legendary' glances over Moorgate's ladies.
~It's rumoured that a new King or even Queen of the Isles to be announced. Unclear on what has happened to King Pellinore, but a certain citizen reports they received word from Immortal Anyana that Pellinore has abdicated the throne and they were asked to pass the news around. But is it true?
~A Divine Spirit has left clues with various monks in the form of vague references and letters of the alphabet, "O" "H" "T" amongst other letters. Rumour has it that when combined, the letters will spell a note that will change their lives forever.
~A basket with holding a blood-soaked note was placed in the mailbox of a certain citizen. Sources reveal the cryptic note said ".....and then there was 1" and sent them to seek the rest. The note was promptly turned over to a Hero and Town Guard at Moorgate's Market.

Much to my happiness and delight, Cassandra and the Masters Clan have offered to do the Arts & Entertainment Section of the Paper. Most appropriate and very appreciated. I feel she will be able to capture the weekly arts environment of the Land and bring it here.

~Monk's GM Honore described his covert feelings for a "certain lovely female ranger" to his friend Baudlaire this week who then worked up this most beautiful poem which Honore has submitted for our reading pleasure:

~Moorgate's Cultural Center Opens

Of course the biggest news in the arts and entertainment front is the new wondrous cultural center. Built with funds donated by the Jurano family, this complex is quite a sight to behold and a wondrous addition to our fine city, in this reporters opinion, the finest addition to our fine city. Just know I'm a biased Masters clan member that loves any addition to the Arts in the land.
The library is filled with books of every imaginable sort. It is of exquisite design. Even the leather of the chairs is of a fine and rare make. Beware the librarians though, they are quite rude and dislike noise above the level of quiet breathing. One might wonder why they couldn't afford pay for more polite librarians, or perhaps some training sessions.
The museum is truly incredible. It is a must see. Of course my favorite part was the original copies of early guild charters and treaties in the Guild Hall, though the reconstructed Impaliea Dragonus fossil is truly wondrous. The Fine Art Gallery has the most fantastic ceiling fresco of Kali summoning the four elements. My neck strained from so much staring. Of course there is a weapons collection that might interest a few citizens of that ilk.
Once you have filled your head with new information in the library and museum, take a stroll in the park, feed the bear cubs, smell the flowers or take a rest on the cloud-like gaming lawn. If you are lucky, someone will be putting on a concert or play in the new amphitheater. The stone work is professional, though with all the different colored marbles on the island, I am sure that Sodagayo would have loved to see a more colorful amphitheater than
that of gray and white stone.
