Painting Flesh
By Don Effinger
Use the left over paint from thr
prior step (#2) and water it down. At this point I make the
mixture transparent. All we're trying to do is bring the rest of
the non-shadowed flesh down a bit. I'm just trying to tint it
really. Slop the stuff on and blow any and all air bubbles away
or off the fig. They tend to sit in spots because I just slosh
the mixture on without worrying where it goes. Let this dry for 2
hours or more.

This step you could skip if you want to bang out zillions of guys ASAP. Okay... dry brush with the Ral Partha Suntan to 'clean up' all the mess we've made. Basically you want to reestablish the flesh to areas that you did an "ooopps" on. "Dark shadow color on the top of the shoulder...ooopps". If you are careful you might not have to do this step. I usually have to because sometimes I get impatient and make a quick job of #2. Go right to next step.
| Dry brush Citadel Elf Flesh on the figure to create highlights. | |
| You are now done unless you want to go
a little further like I do at times. |
|
| Dry brush Polly Scale Flesh on top on the fig to give an even greater highlight if you think it needs it. I often do this for really high spots like tops of bare shoulders, faces, fingers, toes, tops of knees that need it etc. You are done...whew. | ![]() |
