Battle report Ancient Indians vs Macedonians, using WAB tournament rules, 2,000 pts.
Ancient Indian army: Me like I had to tell ya this
Macedonians: Don can correct any errors
The armies were lined up, from left to right like so:

I dont remember on which turn what happen, but here is the flow of the game.
Don's comments are in blue
On my right the Indian skirmishers and light cavalry advanced. The elite cavalry shot at the light cavalry, rolling very badly, they only managed to unhorse two Indians before they were engaged and routed off the board. The skirmishers charged their counter parts and won the combat! Unfortunately, they kept on tripping over their longbows and couldnt catch the fleet footed javelin men. The next turn the Indians, instead of charging again, let lose a volley at point blank range, slaying about 4 javelin men. The skirmisher fled off the board.
>>>>>Yeah that's about it. The Elite Cav did diddly squat all day! I missed so many dice rolls that I thought even my bad dice rolls had escaped me. It was down-right HORRIBLE! To make matters worse, Vinny forgot everything except his figures for the games. I had to lend him some dice and boy was he hot!
On my left flank things were quite for most of the game. This quite was heaven sent because I was very weak on this flank. The archers on the hill finally got a target to shot in the middle of the game. The Hypaspists had begun moving toward them. My heavy cavalry also spotted a unit of light cavalry with the dreaded companions behind them. The archers kept on shooting at the Hypaspist, scoring a few hits. Instead of charging the Indians, the Hypaspist meekly ran up and threw their javelins.
>>>>>You forgot to tell them you were up him AND all formed up! I needed to score at least +3 kills to stay even. Not good. I figured those BS4 over-priced, lazy bastards would hit SOMETHING!!!!
The next turn, the bowmen encouraged by the pitiful javelin toss let loose a very effective volley that took down several Hypaspists. The Macedonians promptly failed their panic test and ran away. Ever see the express on Dons face when he fails a leadership 9 panic test funny!
>>>>>Aaaaaaaaaaaaaahhh.. it was NOT funny. It just shows you that if you roll bad you are gonna lose. You roll good and the air smells great.
Meanwhile, my heavy cavalry got hit by the Companions, lost the combat, failed the panic test and were destroyed. The Companions were now out of position and had to spend a turn to turn around and make their way to the main fighting. By this time the events in the center of the battlefield decided the game.
>>>>>Yup, I was hoping to wait until the best moment to attack but I waited a turn too late. Bummer. Bad dice rolling and bad judgement. This just gets worse.
In the center, the Macedonians advanced the four pike units full speed at the nervous Indian levies, spearmen and archers. The Indian bow fire was directed at the outer regiments. The objective being to reduced these units under 16.
The one phalanx on his left peeled off and charged the Indian ASB bearer phant. This was a nail biting combat, I remember I only managed to inflict one wound, luckily Don whiffed,
>>>>>I rolled about 7,874 hits and rolled only 1 'to wound' on the elephant which he promptly saved. Not good.
lost the combat and FBIGOed. If he had charged the genls phant he may have won (since the ASB gets a +1 to the combat result). Anyway, the next turn my genl charged into the fray and, with the ASB, demolished the phalanx.
>>>>>I was afraid of the extra large amount of attacks from that tank. I thought at least I'd kill someone of the other one.... WRONG!
Eventually, the remaining 3 phalanxes reached my main line & charge range. My 50-man spearman regiment charged the enemy unit in front of them. My militia unit waited, since the unit was armed with 2HW there was no point in charging may as well get a final shot in. The spearmen unit lost the first round of combat and barely missed FBIGOing off the board (by a quarter inch!). The next round, however, went to the spearmen. Over the next few turns the more numerous spearmen wrapped around the phalanx and wiped it out.
>>>>>This was a no-win situation at one point. He kept getting more and more attacks on me once the tide turned. I managed to hang around a bit though.
The bowmen in between the spearmen and militia fire and fled, failed to rally and ran back home. This at least took that phalanx out of position for a couple of turns.
>>>>>Yeah... *sigh*
The Indian Militia unit was charged, but got an unbelievable volley off, then Don rolled especially bad scoring very few kills with his pikes, the militiamen with their huge knives sliced into the evil Macedonian pikemen lobbing off many Macedonian heads.
>>>>>Vinny is nice here. I rolled worse than he makes it seem. :(
And they won the combat!!! Failing to run their opponents down the militia fired at them again & again. By this time the phants were making their way back to the main fighting, shooting all along the way. They charged the phalanx that the militia were fighting and combined destroyed it. Having lost 3 of 4 phalanxes, a bunch of skirmishers, and his elite cavalry the Macedonians reached break point. Battle over, an Indian victory!
>>>>>When I heard that Vinny received this list from the 'secret source' I began to get nervous. Vinny's usual list is nothing to write home about. Plus he got secret tips. The two of them were exchanging private emails for the past week or so. Vikings should stick to the North and raid Saxons or something! Rat bastard!
After the battle
Vinporus, handed the strangely clad advisor a bag of gold coins, "Thanks a bunch for the advice, I guess youll be going back to your longship now". The stranger tied the gold sack to his belt after adjusting the huge battle-axe that was hanging on it. "And by the way, why do you have horns on your helmet?"
>>>>>The strangely clad advisor swiftly turned around and decapitated Vinporus with a quick swing of his Longaxe. "Here take your gold and for the rest of you never ever ask about the horns again". The man in the splendid red pants strode aboard his Dragonship and left the warm seas for now. Hans
