CLASSIC ROCK(e.g. Billy Joel, Elton John The Who, Bruce Springsteen, Britney Spears Eagles)

Boston - (Debut Album) **** 1/2
Alright. This one is one of the few albums I dare to give the fabulous 4.5 star rating. It features such hit songs as More Than A Feeling, Peace Of Mind, Foreplay/Long Time and Let Me Take You Home Tonight. Plain and simple - every good song by Boston is on this album. All their other albums pale in ... hell, name one of Boston's other albums. Go buy this. Now.

Big Ones - Aerosmith **** - By The Man

This is the second greatest hits of Aerosmith songs. I happen to love thius CD. On the first Cd of greatest hits by them, there were some good songs (Walk This Way, Sweet Emotions, and a few others, but not many). On this CD though, I love everysong except one (it's the first one, I just don't like it) On this Cd there are songs lie Janie's Got A Gun, Rag Doll, Living On The Edge, Crying, Love In an Elevator, and many more. There are 16 songs, and the are great. If you like Boston-based-bands deffently get this CD!

ROCK ON
The Man

Every Breath You Take-The Police****
Very good album. If you don't like the Police, that's yur problem so buy this. It's basically their greatest hits, with the exception of their other great albums. It's got "Every Breath You Take", a great song, "Every Thing She Does", and "Message in a Bottle" among others. A good buy.
-The Blue Player

Elton John- Elton John****1/2
Elton John's second album, after Empty Sky, and one of my personal favorites. Big hits like Your Song, Take Me to the Pilot, The King Must Die, Border Song, and Sixty Years On are featured on this album along with The Greatest Discovery, No Shoestrings on Louise, The Cage, and I Need You to Turn To. This album is a masterpiece of music, with a beautiful orchesta to back up Elton's amazing piano talent. And, an added bonus, Elton's voice is better in this album then in any other, even Madman. A truly splendid album, and worth buying.
Sincerely,
Alaay

Madman Across the Water - Elton John*******(7 stars)
The greatest album ever. Well worth the seven stars, above and beyond the limits of all other albums. Elton proves why he's the number one musician in the world through this orchestra of wonder and talent. His skill is at its peak and the songs are better then ever. A progidy of the music world, Madman is, and will always be, the #1 best album ever.
Sincerely,
Alaay

Aqualung - Jethro Tull***
It was ok. Catchy songs, nothing too big. Their huge hit, Aqualung, and other minor songs like Locamotive Breath, Wind Up, Hymn 43, and My God. Many agnostic and aethiest points of view to religion. Beautiful lyrics by Ian Anderson.
Sincerely,
Alaay

...Hits - Phil Collins***1/2
Some of the best Phil Collins songs collected into one amazing CD. His music shows views of mainly Love (Seperate Lives, Two Hearts, True Colors, Against All Odds) and peace (Another Day in Paradise, Both Sides of the Story). With wonderful lyrics and an amazing voice for a drummer, Phil Collins... Hits is an album worth buying, even if you're not a fan. This is album is a must have, even more so then his other big albums, Both Sides of the Story, But Seriously, and Face Values.
Sincerely,
Alaay

< text="aqua"> An Innocent Man-Billy Joel***
Not bad, rather sappy though. Has songs like "Uptown Girl", enough said. Does have "Innocent Man", great song MMZ. Unless you're a Billy Joel fan, you probably won't like this. But then again I might be entirely wrong and no nothing about you, which is probably the right idea. So don't believe me, fine, be that way.
-The Blue Player

The Stranger-Billy Joel(To good to be rated)
This is by far his best album! The first 4 songs on the album are on his greatest hits, and "Vienna", which should be a hit, is the only thing separating the 4 hits between "Only the Good Die Young", and "She's Always a Woman", wow! The other songs are "Movin' Out", "The Stranger", "Just the Way You Are", "Scenes From an Italian Restaurant", "Get it Right the First Time"(good song), and "Everybody Has a Dream".
This is a must get, trust me, I'm not fibbing(would I lie to you?).
-The Blue Player

Billy Joel - 2000 Years (The Millenium Concert) ****
An album which I personally do not own, I've heard many a time thanx to the magic of Napster. This is a rehash of many classic Billy Joel songs to make a fabulous album. It is effectively a soundtrack of the concert he played at Times Square's Y2K. Worth picking up if not just for the cover of "Honky Tonk Woman." Cya around...

Elton John's Greatest Hits Volume I *****
I was looking, and we have no Elton. I wonder why...?
Anyways, this is a great album. Every song is great. Even if you know only a couple of the songs on it, get it. You'll become a Elton fan just because they're so good. It has one of my favorites, "Your Song", as well as classics like "Bennie and the Jets" and "Candle in the Wind". This is for Alaay, we need Elton up here. And for Phil, who claims that he doesn't like Elton, but everytime he listens to one of his songs, he likes it. Augh...
I've bought many crappy albums thanks to the latin movement of 99'. But now I buy only good albums, a novel idea. And this is a great album, buy it.

Hell Freezes Over: The Eagles ****
The Man
First, the goons have taken away The Shadow, so I have to do all the work around here. When he comes back (If he ever does) he will probably erase this message and take credit for this review. But untill then here it is.
When the Eagles broke up, the lead singer, Bryan Adams, was intervied. The reporters asked if The Eagles would ever play again, Adams replied by saying "Yeah, When Hell Freezes Over". 13 years later they come out with a live cd called "Hell Freezes Over".
Now this happens to be one of my favorite cd's of all time. First it has a really great live veryion of their best song, "Hotel California". This vertion has a great guitar solo in the begining, and is just a relaxing sonre to listen to (AND IT HAS NO HIDDEN VERSE).
Then it has all thier gretaest hits. "Desperado" "Life In The Fast Lane" "Tequila Sunrise" and "Get Over It".
These are some great songs, and they are all live. Then i picked it up for $10.00, because it was on sale. Because of this, I gave it ****.
Bye
The Man

Black Sabbath: Paranoid ****
I'm happy already 'cause I picked up this album for $5. Sweet! It's got some really great Ozzy songs on it, including "Iron Man" and "Paranoid". Absolutely worth the money ('specially for me), this is an album not to be missed! -MagicManZach

Bob Dylan's Greatest Hits 9 out of 11
A strong album all around. I'm not a huge Dylan fan but this is really a good album. Ussually you can find it for about ten bucks so it is an excellent buy for your money. It has all his major hit like "Blowin in the Wind" "Times a changin" "Tambourine Man" and of course, "Like a rolling stone". This album is a great buy even if I could have done these vocals.-Eladamri

Guess Who: These Eyes ****
Well, this isn't the kind of album you usually see reviewed here, but tough. This is a great album, even if you don't like the Guess Who, you should pick it up. It's got the original "American Woman", not to mention loads of great songs. You go buy now. -MagicManZach

Billy Joel's Greatest Hits Volumes I & II ******

Great! Combines slower songs with faster more upbeat songs. It contains Piano Man, Only the Good Die Young, New York State of Mind, My Life, It's Still Rock and Roll to me, Stranger, Captain Jack and much much more! Price: Usually around $30 -Tom

Billy Joel's Greatest Hits III ***½
A quality album, no argument there. Featuring good songs like "River Of Dreams" and "Downeaster Alexa", this is a solid album, no doubt. It also features the hit song "We Didn't Start The Fire." Worth the buy. -Magicmanzach

John Mellencamp's Greatest Hits: The Best I Could Do (1978-1988) *****

By The Shadow

I will start off by saying that John Mellencamp rocks!!!! I mean even if you don't like his other stuff, you have to like Jack and Diane at least (unless your Allay who is a complete moron and couldn't tell what good music was, even if it hit him really hard in the head ). Anyway, I got his greatest hits, and it is really good. It has many hits like: Hurts so good, Jack and Diane, Pink Houses (sometimes called Aint That America), Authority Song, Small Town, Cherry Bomb (A favorite of Tom), and many more. It is such a great CD. Keep cool, and play magic.

I felt so symbolic yesterday If I knew Picasso, I would buy myself a gray guitar and play.

Santana: Supernatural ****½
It's been a while since Santana's had a new album, but this was worth the wait. It includes joint performances with such artists as Rob Thomas (of Matchbox 20 fame), and Everlast. This album (if you can find it) is an absolute neccessity. Go buy it. Buy two copies - No, three! No arguments. Support your local Santana club! -MagicManZach

PUNK ROCK-(e.g. Greenday, Offspring, Blink 182)

Green Day - 1,039 / Smoothed Out Slappy Hours ***
This is Green Day's first real album. It combines the EP's 39/Smooth, Slappy, and 1000 Hours (get it?). It also features their cover of the Operation Ivy song "Knowledge." However, it's nothing amazing. This CD, on the other hand, is pretty good. When Green Day released this, they were still growing into themselves, so the music is not as good as some of their later albums. All things considered, this album earns the rating. It is also probably available very cheaply at your local music retailer.
-MagicManZach

Blink 182- Enema of the State: 6 3/4 stars out of 11

The blink boys may have sold out, which can be either a good thing or a bad thing for a punk group, but this is still their best album to date. Though the cd's first tracks are punk mediocrity at best, the album explodes in the mid-section. Track 5 hits you w/ their first single off the album "what's my age again" which has all the making a great punk anthem. Track 6 follows suit w/ "Dysentary Gary" a traditional blink piece. Track 7 provides the most serious Blink song on the album and in my opinion the best,"Adam's Song". Track 8 "all the small things" is ok but is overshadowed by the song surrounding it. The last part of this meaty middle section is "the party song" a solid song. However, the album on a whole is a good album but not a spectacular album if the best punk release of the 99'.-Eladamri

Greenday: Dookie ******
First of all Greenday Rules!! and Dookie is probably the BEST ALBUM EVER in my opinion so thats why it got 6 on scale of 1-5, also I am a big Greenday fan and unfortunately own only 3 of their albums, so Insomniac and Nimrod both got **** stars because they a good strong albums. - The Man
Follow-up: Normally I'm not the biggest Green Day fan, but I gotta agree, this album really rocks! It's hard to find a bad song on this thing. - MagicManZach

Offspring: Americana *****
This is one of my favorite albums, right up there with Greenday, Offspring is one of my favorite groups I only have 2 of their CDs, Americana and Smash, but have listened to their other albums, especially Ixnay on thr Hombre, and they are a great group. Their music is hardcore and the whole album Americana is great. For Ixnay on the Hombre and Smash they each got **** stars because they are good but not as good, however they are both strong albums which I enjoy listening to a lot.

GOOD MODERN ROCK-(e.g. Bush, Live, Counting Crows, U2, REM)

Live-Throwing Copper 9 out of 11

This is definitely one of the best if not the best album of the 90s. It features great instrumental with clever lyrical work. It features the huge hits "I alone" and "Lightning Crashes" as well as some of songs that got considerable radio time such as "All over you". "Dam at otter creek", "Pillar of Davidson", "Iris", and "Top" are also single caliber songs. On a whole this is great album and one which is well worth your money...no matter how much it costs!-Eladamri }~(((*>

Bush - The Science of Things 7 3/4 out of 11 stars

Bush's 3rd album is a great one! The album is a unique one w/ the strong guitar parts and the vocals of Gavin Rossdale. Bush's first album since 95' open's w/ a powerful track in "Warm machine", and follows up w/ "Jesus online" an equally powerful song. The third song on the album is the smash single "The chemicals between us", a song which is undoubtedly one of the top rock songs of the year. "40 miles from the sun" is a throw back from the rest of the album but is definely an amazing piece of work. The softer lyric's and choppy guitar chords make a really cool combination. "Disease of the Dancing Cats" and "The Prizefighter" may be the most stand out tracks on the later part of this album. The album is a consistent one w/ a lot of single caliber songs.-Eladamri

R.E.M: Man On the Moon Soundtrack ****

- By Shadow

R.E.M. has done it again. By the time your are reading this thay probably have a new CD out, but right now there is only the soundtrack. I happen to love this CD. It has Man On The Moon (an old clasic) and The Great Beyond (a great new song). It also has a duet with Jim Carrey and Micheal Stipes (The lead singer of R.E.M.). It also has a lot of the calming intrimenatl music from the movie. I am so mad this did not win a grammy. It deffenetly should have. I am recemending all of you to go out and buy this or therir new CD. I like R.E.M. alot and i think you will too after you hear this CD.

CRAPPY MODERN ROCK-(e.g. Kid Rock, Limp Bizkit, Korn)

Devil Without A Cause * 1/2 -MagicManZach Hey kids! Right now, you probably hate me already just from the * 1/2 thing, huh? Well, guess what? This is one of the weakest albums I've seen in a long time. Kid Rock isn't neccessarily a bad band, but anybody can do a lot better than this album. Send flames to here. C'mon, we all know you can beat this one, KR.

BUBBLE GUM POP-(e.g. Britney Spears, N'Sync, Huey Lewos. various other talentless artists with good looks)

Britney Spears-Oops...I did it Again ***
Britney Rocks(and is sooooo hot)! This album is no where near as good as her debut album, but that would hve been hard to do. And chances are the only copies it will sell will be by rabid Britney fans who will by anything she does, like me. And because of this it will sell big-time. It's not bad, but since I'm a fan I'll give it three stars.
Rock on Britney!!!
-Tom

Britney Spears-Oops...I did it Again ***
I have got to agree with Tom on this one. The orginial album had three hits ("Hit Me Baby Onr More Time" "Sometimes" and "Crazy), but i don't know if this one can even pull of two. On the other hand, people will still buy it because it is Spears. It has a very good cover with great pictures in the jacket (if you would like to see more Spears pictures, find the hidden part of the site.)
Also what is with her and nameing her album after her hit songs, you have to be more craetive than that, girl. Wait, she's Britney, what need is there for her to be creaytive. She has those giangantic.... vocal cords. I gave it three stars because anything she does is great for me

The Man

Greatest Hits - Huey Lewis and the News**1/2
These guys suck so much it isn't funny. They have no talent. However, Huey Lewis somehow created catchy hits that I've taken a liking too. He IS bubble gum pop, more so then even Britney. He's just bubble gum pop from the early eightees. His big hit was I Want a New Drug, but my favorite is The Power of Love. Yes, I'm well aware he sucks.
Sincerely,
Alaay

< text="aqua"> 'N Sync: Millenium
Yes! Time for mandatory 'N Sync Bashing! This cheesy-bubble-gum pop band has no talent! And don't get me started with how many Beatles songs they rip off! This is gonna look like an Offspring review in a minute... Anyway, 'N Sync: get some talent and/or a haircut.

MISC-(e.g. Comedy albums + burned Albums)

Mixed Cd - Phil's Excelent CD ****

Alright, Now I know this is not a cd you can go out and buy but it is really good. I got it from my god friend Phil. Phil's dad, you see, is a music junkie (nto a scary as a bar junkie), and buys all sort of cd's (BUT NOT "DURAN DURAN", CAN YOU BELIVE IT, I KNOW I CAN'T).
So Phil makes this cd with songs by Bush, Steppenwolf (but don't tell them), Counting Crows, and all sorts of other graet cd's.
So I go and use The Shadow's burner and make me a copy of this great cd. Now I listen to it constently and i really enjoy it.
I know you can't get it, but if you see me down here in VERY hot Florida, I will make you a copy.

See Yah
The MAn

There will be more reviews and cool stuff to come so keep checking back. Thanks everybody - Phil
