Dead or Alive 2 is a very unique fighter. Not only can you see the
women of Dead or Alive shaking stuff, but the graphics are top notch
and the gameplay is very innovative. Okay okay this game does leave
very little to the imagination, but once you look passed the bouncy
exterior this game is very deep and and pretty enjoyable.
Are Those Real?
The pictures posted don't do this game justice. The graphics can
be compared to even the mighty Soul Calibur. It's that good. But the
game one-ups other fighting games because of the beautifully designed
levels. All the levels are multi-layered and each has it's own distinct
tone to it. Some levels are dark, while others are religious like. (Talking
about the level with the stained glass window). Plus with a hard enough hit
you can bust opponents through railings, windows, and even knock them
off huge cliffs toward the bottom. It's really cool. The character models
are awesome too. Certain materials move, like jackets, and hair. Also the women
are very busty. These girls are certainly equipped. Enough with the male
testosterone this game is definitely a looker.
Sound
The music is really a mix of rock and up-tempo music. It gets your
blood flowing when you reach the character select screen. Then
once you play, each level has a distinct sound to it. The level with
the fire flies has music sounding like ancient Japanese music. Maybe
something like Shenmue for instance. The punches, kicks and voices are
all top notch. The acting is great eventhough it's in Japanese, but hey there
are subtitles.
Gameplay
The controls are very easy to get into. And once you start practicing
the gameplay really flies. The gameplay is not as deep as Tekken, but the combos
are very cool looking with just a few presses of punches and kicks. Sometimes
you'll say, "How'd I do that?" The counter move also adds more spice to the fighting.
Once you think you've beaten an enemy and all they need is more hit to die, he'll counter
and keep the fight going. Countering is an easy way to get the momentum back into the f
fight. But of course it's always more fun to play with your friends
than against the computer all day.
Overall
I guess this update is all too late and you know by now how good this
game actually is. But hey, now the game should be at bargain price
and those of you who haven't played this game should pick it up and see
what you're missing.
