In Blue Stinger you're either a guy named Eliot Ballade or a big fat guy who swears a lot
named Doggs. Here's a basic rundown: Eliots ship get destroyed after a meteor hits Earth
and he finds himself stranded on Dinosaur Island. An island crawling with demons and
monsters. There he meets Doggs and they soon find themselves struggling to survive the
terror of Dinosaur Island.
Graphically Beautiful?
The graphics in Blue Stinger are realistic, showing off what the Dreamcast's power is
capable of. With beautifully rendered graphics, realistic looking characters, and gruesome
looking monsters, Blue Stinger is a force to be reckoned with. However, the movement of
Doggs and Eliot is so slow it seems that they have sticks stuck up their asses. The camera
angles are set to travel behind the character, so you won't magically find yourselves
walking around a corner not being able to see what's going on.
What Are You Talking Aboot?
Half the time in this game, you'll find yourself in situations where you'll wonder what the
heck's going on. Most of the puzzles don't make any sense unless you're some kind of
engineer. Some of the dialogue is like trying to translate a foreign language. Most
solutions you'll just stumble into. And then there's the weapons system. Guess where you
have to get ammo for weapons? Out of vending machines. For those who are going huh?, each
monster drops money when killed. In the game you'll find vending machines to buy ammo and
sometimes weapons. Play control in the game can be frustrating, but if you love games where
monsters heads get blown off this is your game.
Overall
Don't be afraid to add Blue Stinger to your DC lineup. It's a solid game.
