[20:24] <Toymaker> The wagon heads through the dirtlands, passing by many villages and farms along the way. The land is quite loose, much like the American "Dust Bowl" (sorry Aussies!) The carrage does uneventfully southward for a number of days.....

[20:27] <Wanas> After paying 500gp for a ring, i would have thought you wouldn't neglect something as important as that (he smiles knowingly at Ty).

[20:28] <Toymaker> After about nine days of travel the wagon pulls up to a large farm, more like a plantation. The fields are growing corn and wheat quite well in this sub-optical climate. One thing that is surprising is that the fields are filled with strange hairy men, wearing big hats and harvesting the crops.

[20:29] <Tyrion> Ghor: We have to have a LITTLE magic. Remember the gargoyle

[20:29] <Tyrion> Bolt: Lets just say it helps me with my chosen profession

[20:29] <Ghorig> i would've taken him eventually

[20:29] <Ghorig> he was getting tired

[20:31] <Toymaker> In these fields are placed small towers, you can see about 5 from the area you are in. They are placed about randomly it seems and other hairy men seem to be overseeing the operation

[20:32] <Toymaker> She sighs and says, "Thats what I've always called them."

[20:32] <Bolt> Looks like some kind of work camp. Maybe these are convicts

[20:33] <Tyrion> Bolt: Good point. Where is the guy we need to meet

[20:33] <Ghorig> no man should be locked up

[20:33] <Toymaker> To everyone besides Siln, you would guess they are Kobolds

[20:33] <Ajantis> is there anyplace that looks like an office...?

[20:33] <Toymaker> Too short for Gnolls

[20:34] * Tyrion walks up to Ghorig and the Kobold

[20:34] <Toymaker> The towers are farther into the field

[20:34] <Ghorig> go to the nearest "official" looking someone

[20:35] * Tyrion says "You there!" pointing to the Kobold "Can you understand me?"

[20:35] <Bolt> I think if we talk to anyone, it should be one of the tower men

[20:35] <Toymaker> As Ghorig walks into the field, the man in the tower (with a heavy accent says) "These are Private fields, begone."

[20:35] <Ajantis> "we are here on business"

[20:35] <Wanas> Ask him where the homestead is.

[20:35] <Ghorig> "WHERE'S THE GUY WE LOOKING FOR!?"

[20:35] <Toymaker> Ty: The creature growls some words out you and yips, pointing south.

[20:36] <Bolt> DM: what are they farming?

[20:36] <Toymaker> Bolt: Corn, Wheat mostly

[20:36] <Tyrion> Toy: Do I recgonize the language at all?

[20:36] <Wanas> im guessing its kobold Ty........

[20:36] <Ajantis> (lol it's a series of barks...kobold...)

[20:36] <Toymaker> Ty: Do you speak Dogman toungues (Gnoll/Kobold?)

[20:37] <Toymaker> The Koblold in the towersays: "Are you with the guild?"

[20:37] * Ghorig runs to the guy who yelled at him

[20:37] <Tyrion> Bolt: I'm not much of one for slavery.

[20:37] <Tyrion> Toy: The ones in the towers are Kobolds too?

[20:37] <Toymaker> Ty: yes

[20:37] <Wanas> They might not be slaves. Just workers.

[20:37] <Bolt> "Nor am I, but we can't do anything here."

[20:37] <Wanas> don't make assumptions.

[20:38] <Tyrion> Wanas: You're right. For some reasons I thought humans were in the towers.

[20:38] <Tyrion> Let's go south

[20:38] <Wanas> Yeah we're with the Guild.

[20:38] * Ajantis is waiting in the carriage for the others...

[20:38] * Corine walks back to the carriage and gets in

[20:38] <Toymaker> "Mr. Trevy wishes to see you, take your carriage around to the South end."

[20:38] * Corine she see's nothing more of interest

[20:39] * Ghorig runs to teh south end

[20:39] <Toymaker> "The Mansion is on that side."

[20:39] <Tyrion> Let's go.

[20:39] * Ajantis heads the carriage "south endish like"

[20:39] <Ajantis> (after everyone has piled in...)

[20:40] <Toymaker> The carriage pulls arounf to the other end. The house there is quite large and is about 1,000 feet across with two stories. Its made of wood, painted white and has huge gold gilded doors...

[20:40] * Ghorig walks in without knocking

[20:40] * Tyrion wonders if any of the gilded portions of the doors are removable

[20:41] <Ghorig> "MR. TREVY!!"

[20:41] * Ajantis looks on with awe at the HUGE house

[20:41] * Wanas knocks politely on the already opened door.

[20:41] * Corine follows close to wanas

[20:42] * Tyrion wanders on in as well

[20:42] * Ajantis waits outside as not to alarm anyone :P and minds the carriage

[20:42] <Toymaker> A man in a designer, imported suit walks to greet you holding a bottle of scotch in one hand and a glass in the other. His skin is well tanned and he is scruffy with hard hands and nice shoes.

[20:42] * Ghorig reaches for the bottle

[20:42] <Wanas> Greetings. We hear you've got a goblin problem.

[20:42] <Toymaker> The man is balded and possibly in his 60's

[20:42] <Ajantis> so it's a man?

[20:42] <Bolt> DM: Human?

[20:42] <Toymaker> "Why thank you Mr. Dwarf and thank you all for coming so quickly."

[20:43] <Toymaker> yes, human

[20:43] * Tyrion asks "By the way, what's with all the kobolds?"

[20:43] <Toymaker> He pours Wanas a glass.

[20:43] <Bolt> (

[20:43] <Bolt> DM: any artwork here?

[20:43] * Wanas takes the glass sniffs it suspiciously, then puts it back with a single quick gulp.

[20:43] * Corine 's eyes search the old man carefully ... not trusting the human

[20:44] <Wanas> not bad. Quite smooth.

[20:44] <Toymaker> To Ty: "They work for me. Don't complain and take a fair pay. I can't go wrong, they always come back. They are most certainly great people."

[20:44] * Ghorig tries to reach the bottle again

[20:44] <Wanas> Im used to stronger of course, but, not bad, for a human brew.

[20:44] <Toymaker> The man turns for a glass and pours one for Ghor

[20:44] * Ghorig grins

[20:44] * Corine smells the strong stuff on Wanas already!

[20:44] <Ghorig> why towers?

[20:45] * Tyrion nods and says "So, what are the details of this goblin problem? What are the wages? How long do we have? How much scotch is there? That sort of thing."

[20:45] * Corine walks over by Ty

[20:45] <Toymaker> He extends his arm and says, "Wouldn't you rather be comfortable." He is pointed to a sitting room

[20:46] <Ghorig> thank you

[20:46] * Corine walks into the sitting room

[20:46] * Ghorig remains standing but tosses back Scotch in a swallow

[20:46] * Tyrion nods and goes into the room

[20:46] * Wanas walks over and takes a seat. Accepting another glass that was kindly offered...

[20:46] <Toymaker> He looks at Ghor and Tyrion: "well, oh course you have questions, now lets go through these slowly."

[20:46] * Ghorig turns red from the Scotch burning his throat

[20:46] * Ghorig smiles sheepishly

[20:47] <Wanas> can't handle it Ghor?

[20:47] * Tyrion says "Ok, explain the situation."

[20:47] * Wanas knocks back his second glass without any trouble.

[20:47] * Corine giggles at Ghorig

[20:47] * Ghorig scowls at Wanas, still not breathing regularly yet

[20:47] <Toymaker> "He sits in a large, comfy chair and turns to Ghor: "First, I need to make sure that my workers work, so I hire taskmasters to make sure they do."

[20:47] <Bolt> "Perfectly sensible."

[20:48] <Toymaker> "Now as for the commision...."

[20:48] <Ghorig> Do i get a horse?

[20:48] <Toymaker> He pours himself go glass.

[20:49] <Toymaker> To Ghorig: "I thought you would bring your own supplies, thats part of your job."

[20:49] <Ajantis> (if i was inside i wou;d remind him to think of the party b4 his stomach...)

[20:49] * Tyrion says "Explaine the problem"

[20:50] <Toymaker> "First, goblins are trying to raid upon my workers homeland, and they are quite upset about the problem."

[20:50] * Tyrion says "How did the goblin problem start? How many are there? Do they appear to be well organized?" and listens...

[20:50] <Toymaker> "I care about my workers and when they complain, I listen."

[20:50] * Corine engrossed in the Goblin Conversation

[20:50] <Tyrion> SO we'll be fighting alongside Kobolds to protect the Kobold homeland?

[20:51] <Bolt> "Excellent. A rare quality these days."

[20:51] <Toymaker> "The reports they send say that there are thousands, but I ask not that you exterminate the race."

[20:51] <Toymaker> "Instead, send them a message so they know not to harry my people."

[20:51] <Tyrion> How much help can we expect from the Kobolds

[20:52] <Wanas> Where do we take this message? Where is their local base of operations?

[20:52] <Toymaker> "Not much, sir, they aren't the best of warriors. Part of the reason they work for me is to get people like you to fight for them. I pay them well enough to accomplish this."

[20:52] * Tyrion says "Very well, and the compensation?"

[20:54] <Toymaker> "I will be paying for you to be able to dent them enough to not be able to attack for a year. The price, 2,000 gold on your return and 1,000 every three months the attacks are ceased."

[20:54] <Toymaker> "To a total of 6,000 for a full year."

[20:54] <Bolt> 'Each?"

[20:54] <Toymaker> "Also, anything you find from the goblins is of course, yours to keep."

[20:54] <Ajantis> (lol)

[20:55] * Tyrion says "And you'll pay to treat any injuries that may be suffered on the job, so to speak?"

[20:55] <Toymaker> "Sorry, sir, I am a successfully bussiness man, but not so stupidly rich to aford that."

[20:56] * Ajantis would be rolling about on the floor if he was inside...

[20:56] <Toymaker> To Ty: "I am no doctor and do not know such costs. I also cannot raise the dead, but I will pay to fix any injuries."

[20:56] <Corine> "Kind Sir, you wouldn't help us with our injuries?"

[20:57] * Tyrion says "Good. We'll expect this in writing, of course, accompanied by your seal. We'll being immediately"

[20:59] <Toymaker> He talks while he writes: "I'll give you directions to the Kobolds dwelling shortly. They will take you to where they have been raided from. As for the organization of goblins, I know nothing of it."

[20:59] * Wanas shouts to outside 'Aj, you ugly elf, get in here.'

[20:59] * Ajantis enters the sitting room...

[20:59] * Tyrion says "Will we get some sort of banner so they will know we are there to help and not to be eaten?"

[21:07] * Ajantis heads outside to check on the carriage

[21:12] <Toymaker> He calls in a Kobold dressed in a bright red tunic and tells him a few words in a dog tongue

[21:12] * Ajantis eye's this "guide" suspiciously

[21:13] <Toymaker> The dogman says, "Yes, Rokem at your service."

[21:14] <Toymaker> Rokem loads a small sack onto your wagon, and smiles happily to everyone.

[21:15] * Wanas shows all his teeth to the Kobold.

[21:16] <Bolt> "I meant no offence, good sir. I beg your pardon."

[21:16] <Ghorig> he don't pray, he can take care of himself, like me

[21:16] <Toymaker> He stares blankly at AJ: "I work."

[21:16] <Ajantis> (ignore last)

[21:16] * Ghorig looks at kobold

[21:17] <Wanas> Take us to the gobbos.

[21:17] <Ghorig> maybe he does pray

[21:17] * Tyrion says "Makes sense. I like you Rokem. Now don't take this the wrong way, but if the man who has hired us has any plans to turn on us, and has involved your people in such matters, remember that we can deal out infinitely more destruction than he, and things would go very poorly indeed for you and yours. Not that I suspect anything, its just a warning, a note of caution"

[21:17] <Toymaker> He quietly tells AJ where to lead the horses

[21:17] <Bolt> "May I tell you of the God to which I pray?"

[21:17] * Ajantis leads the carriage off

[21:18] <Ghorig> i know where my attackers pray

[21:18] <Toymaker> He says to Ty: "Thank you for your advise, sir."

[21:18] <Ghorig> i hear it before they fall aart

[21:18] * Tyrion grins and slaps Rokem on the back in a friendly way

[21:18] <Toymaker> To Bolt: "That is personal, sir, but I will listen."

[21:19] <Toymaker> Assuming AJ is starting them, the carriages are rolling

[21:19] * Bolt procedes to tell him of Mishakal's greatness over the next few hours, or until he asks me to stop.

[21:19] * Corine leans back in the carriage and rests, but still listening for anything interesting
