FORUM Union of Lost Souls© Disclaimer Please Note: There is often more than one way to do something in Rhydin. These are just the ways that I gave seen In my experience here. I never claimed to know EVERYTHING about RP. These are just the ways I have seen that are most often honored by other RPer's. How to Spar A spar is generally considered a practice fight. It is most often used to gain XP's and highten dice. ((It's also a good way to cure boredom... heh, heh)) In a spar, There are no major consequences. And in most cases ((but not all)) Both chars are automatically healed after the spar. All you do, is find an aquaintance, and ask them if they would care to spar. If they say yes, All you need is a proc. The proc will set the terms for the spar, And the combatants will battle until the final HP level is met. Once the spar has ended, Both chars may shake hands and walk away satisfied. It's as simple as that. Rolling Dice OK, one of the first things you need to know to spar is How to roll dice. There are two ways of doing this. Method 1: Command String The original way of rolling dice in rhydin, was to type a command string in the chat room. The Command is: //roll-dice#-sides# For example, the command string to roll two twenty-sided dice would be: //roll-dice2-sides20 then just hit enter or click send, and AOL will do the rest. Method 2: Auto-Roller Now, for those of us who are slower at typing, Or just want to be even quicker ((and avoid embarrassing typo's)) Just use the AOL Auto-Roller. It can be found at: AOL Keyword: Dice ((I suggest you have it easily Accessable in your favorites.)) Tip: On Average your roll will be better if your attack command is between 11 and 15 words. In Example: The command: ::Walks up, taking ((enemy)) by the throat and slamming them into the wall:: ((13 words)) will do better than: ::Punches him:: ((2 words)) Or: ::Draws his blade, ramming it through their chest, and grinning as he sees the tip gleaming on the other side:: ((20 words)) Now, this is ONLY ON AVERAGE This trick will not work EVERY time, Just MOST of the time. PAY ATTENTION! Always watch the proc. Nobody likes it if you keep them waiting. Plus, you might even catch a mistake to your benefit. Back to the UoLS Home Page:
