Earn Captain Falcon:

       Play as one character all the way through the one player challenge in 15 minutes or less. After the credits, you will challenge Captain Falcon. If you defeat him, he'll appear in the upper right of the player lineup.

Earn Jigglypuff

       Do the same thing above after winning captain falcon (no time limit). He will appear in the lower right of the character roster.

Earn Luigi

       First you must defeat the bonus stage one levels for each of the eight original characters, in practice or one-player mode. Then Luigi will challenge you to a fight. If you defeat him, he'll appear in the upper left of the character roster.
