Gameplay: 7/10
The gameplay is pretty easy, all you do is accelerate to full power, steer around the course picking up boosters and overtaking the other boats. It is quite fun when you go up a massive jump and fly through the air for a couple of seconds and gain a few places or smash into the police boats but other than that there aren't really any amazing bits. Also the later races are very tricky and annoying especially when you miss one booster and lose the race, this is not helped by the slow load and selection of craft times.

Graphics: 7/10
The graphics are okay seeing as this game came out a few years ago. The surface of the boats look good, smooth and the scenery is crisp but not very detailed in texture. The water looks quite realistic as well as the movement of the boats across it which adds an air of realism, but what is not realistic is when you get overtaken by a police boat with no rocket boosters.

Replayability: 6/10
You wont really want to replay the early tracks again unless you didn't do very well and want to get a better score/time. The harder levels have more replayability because you will have to go on them so much to beat them. The aqusition of new boats adds a bit of replay value as does the bonus tracks.

Should I rent this game?:
Yes, that is is you can find it. My local blockbuster doesn't stock any dreamcast games for rental so I have to buy all the games I have and not rent them first. You could buy it if you wanted to, but only if you get a good deal, don't pay more than Ł7.99 for it, it is worth having if you want to expand your dreamcast collection. Hydro Thunder might be difficult to find as well, You wont find it new but you could get it in the used section of your local eb or bid for it on ebay.

Overall: 7/10
It is an above average game, but not amazing. It is still fun even though it was around near the dreamcast launch. I would recommend buying it if you want to play more original dreamcast games but don't pay too much. It is only let down buy the slightly slow load times when you are selecting your boat and course, but other than that is is a good all-round game.
