Until now, I had thought that Geoff had written you, but Geoff thought that I already did, so we just realized that neither of us ever did! So sorry about that! Geoff and I are doing great and celebrated our one-year anniversary this past summer. We wanted to thank you again for being so accomodating to our last minute request with less than a week's notice (given the sudden change in my dad's health). Trying to organize our marriage that summer at the last minute all the way from our residence in San Diego, it was such a relief to have you officiate at our marriage in our home in Halifax as you were always on top of all the paperwork. It was such a breath of fresh air to meet an officiant who is so accepting of us as same-gender couple and our choice to establish our increased level of committment and love for one other through marriage. As we didn't have the opportunity to celebrate our official marriage with most of our other friends and family members, we marked our one year anniversary with year with a more extensive unofficial wedding gathering. You will also be hearing from either my brother (Frank) or his fiancee (Karen) in the near future as they are also looking for a JP to officiate their Halifax wedding next summer and we've recommended you to them! It is official, we were married at 11am ADT June 20th, 2005 at the beautiful home of JP Gary Dockendorff. We have used the services of JP Gary Dockendorff from Halifax for numerous marriage ceremonies across mainland Nova Scotia. The only problem is you have to book him early unless you are flexible with the time of your ceremony. He has proven to be very helpful and knowledgeable about his services.
nsnurse New Member I have a friend at the Colchester Regional Hospital who is getting married in July and has Gary Dockendorff performing her ceremony. The only problem is that she had to change her ceremony from early afternoon to late afternoon because he was booked for the time she had planned. She saw him perform a friend's wedding ceremony and really liked him.
We are getting married at my FH's family home in Bedford and are using Gary Dockendorff to perform our service. He also married my future sister-in-law.
We live in Olds Alberta and have also booked Gary Dockendorff to perform our ceremony this fall. To eliminate the 5 day waiting period, he explained how to obtain our license through Canada Post and he also agreed to pick up our marriage license for us since the marriage license office will be closed when we fly into Halifax. He also said since we were having a small wedding, no rehearsal would be required and that he would go over our ceremony and what we would have to do at his home when we arrive to pick up our license. We found him very helpful and he comes highly recommended by his references. Helen
We are living in NB but my FH is from Bedford and we have engaged the services of Gary Dockendorff to officiate at our wedding in September. My FH's sister also had Gary perform her ceremony. Now let's hope the weather is nice cause we are having an outdooors wedding on my FH's family lawn.

Our marriage was performed by Gary Dockendorff who assisted us in obtaining all our necessary documents prior to landing in Halifax. We picked up our license at 830 and were legally married at 10 am. Thank you Halifax for welcoming us.
At about 2.15 September 2 , Atlantic time, under a tree in the Public Gardens in Halifax. Thanks to Gary Dockendorff, who married us and gave a lovely and entirely god-free ceremony, and made a little souvenir booklet for us to take home. Awesome ceremony.
