This sordid rags-to-riches-to-rags tale features one of the Columbus
Crunch's most enduring charachters. In the beginning,Year 2001, Ryan
entered the league as a member of the not so dynamic duo known as The
Franchise. The Franchise turned out to be a bit of a letdown for Ryan,
but he learned from the experience. He vowed to comeback to the Crunch
in 2002, but swore that he would never work with a partner again....he
would go it alone. 2002 was an awesome year for the renamed Hitmen and
Ryan was on top of the world. He got used to the things that go along
with being a star owner. He was spoiled with the riches, fame, women,
booze, and drugs that his on the field success brought him. He finished
2002 strong....a Superstar.....
At the start of the 2003 season, The Hitmen were poised to go all the
way. The adoring press even picked the Hitmen as the favorite to win it
all....the coveted Columbus Crunch Championship Trophy. Then week 1
arrived....no win. Week 2....the same. Week 3.....uh uh. Week 4....you
guessed it. 0-4 for the Hitmen with no relief in sight. Week 5 was to
become the lowpoint of Ryan's career as he played in the game that the
pressed dubbed "Battle of the Losers". Ryan won, but just barely.
It takes alot to go from riches to rags, but Ryan does it like a true
sport. You'll laugh and cry as Ryan tries to regain his rightful
place.....at the top of the fantasy football totem pole.
