Chapter Fifteen: Secrets Are Told!
Lana got up earlier than Samantha and Darlene, she had an interview. So by the time they got up she was gone. Darlene was taking a shower and Samantha was making her bed. She lifted up the pillow and an envelop floated to the ground. She wasn’t sure if it had been there before she went to sleep or not. She opened the envelop, and found a letter.
‘Ohh, it must be from my secret admirer’ she thought. She opened the letter.
I’ve seen you sleep before,
But I’ve never seen this,
Tonight was different,
There was something you missed.
You didn’t seem to notice when I let it slip,
And what could I do,
You don’t seem to notice,
That I’m right in front of you.
So tonight we watched Message In a Bottle,
And you laid down on my lap, you see ,
But you don’t understand that he is me.
"Could it be? Is it really AJ?" she wondered out loud.
"Could AJ be what?" Darlene said as she walked out of the bathroom, her hair still wet.
Lana made a guest appearance on TRL and David Letterman that day and didn’t have time for anything else.
They were to leave New York that day, and take a late flight. Samantha and Lana decided to talk a walk before they left.
"Lana, you know with the album coming out next week, I just wanna wish you luck."
"Thank you. Since I was gone all of today, fill me in on what I missed."
"Well, I found out who my secret admirer is!"
"Really? Who?"
"AJ. I haven’t been able to talk to him because he had that Teen People interview and then I worked with Fatima. I found it under my pillow when I woke up."
"Thats great Sam. I’m happy for you."
"Thanks. So what’s with you and Brian?"
"Nothing really. He hasn’t asked me out or anything. I guess he’s been busy and maybe he doesn’t want a girlfriend."
"Maybe"
"Or he could just not want me. After all he was acting because he was the cameo."
"Lana, I know he likes you. He thinks your absolutely great. He told me all of this while the tour was on break."
"Yeah, maybe."
"I’ll talk to him if you want."
"OK, thanks. You know, you’re a great friend."
"You too!" Sam said as she hugged Lana.
"Hhh, I guess we should head back before it gets too late." Lana suggests.
"Yeah, I guess." she says, wiping a tear from her check.
They walked back to the hotel and got in the elevator. They stepped out into the hall, when the elevator doors opened, and saw Brian sitting in the hall.
"Lana" he says as he sees her.
"I’ll see ya in the room." Sam says as she quickly slips into the room, sensing they wanted to be alone.
"Hi Brian. Whats wrong?"
"Nothing, just wanted to talk to you."
"Ohh, ok. What about?"
"Well, I know I haven’t talked to you in a while. . . about what happened on the set, but I’d like to. Can I tell you something?"
"Sure"
"I wasn’t acting. I mean the cameo was the perfect time to do what I felt. I said what I felt, I wasn’t lying. I didn’t kiss you just because I was your cameo. I wanted to. I wanna be with you," he paused. "I’ve wanted to kiss you for a long time but I never knew how. I didn’t know if the opportunity was open."
Lana was shocked, but she was happy.
"Brian," she said, her voice barely stable, "the opportunity is always open."
He smiled and looked into her eyes, and then kissed her. He pulled back and kissed her again. He liked kissing her. He wanted to keep kissing her but he couldn’t.
"Night Lana, see you in the morning."
"Night Bri."
